Um, no, Lacy hadn't done more than Abraham.

Abraham-Gevor K.O went on to beat Asikainen and get robbed against Sturm (one top 10, one ABC titlist) Marquez (coming off of beating undefeated Lorenzo)

If you wanna play that game

But you know when PP made that comment, that is wasn't solely due the victory Calz has over Kessler - you were just being pedantic!!! He doesn't need to qualify every statement when it should be obvious what he means!!!

Kessler was in his prime. He may well win the tournament but the combination of back/hand and rib injuries could well stop him from racking up all those victories you've suggested.

Ward is a live underdog in the tournament as well.

 But Junior Jones beat Barrera when they were both peak, and Jones won convincingly - twice! Did he also PROVE HE WAS THE BETTER FIGHTER??

Barrera went on to overhaul Jones, easily. If Kessler goes on to overhaul Calzaghe, he will be viewed as greater than Joe just like Barrera did re Jones.

It is incredible that you still do not understand this!!!!!! Your statement was **** and has been thoroughly disproven again and again.

    Classy.

Joe's resume is feeble. If Kessler beats a few of the best names from 160-175 on top of what he has already achieved, he will rank higher than Joe. A win over Kessler, an unconvincing SD over a 43-year-old Hopkins, a win over a horribly overhyped and undertalented Lacy, and years of beating sub-standard comp in a weak division is NOT insurmountable. Far from it.

Erm, yes. And Kessler could improve also. That's my point. You can't rule him out of having the better career between him and Joe because of one h2h loss, because Joe's resume and achievements are not so great that they cannot be topped by Kessler. Same as what Barrera did re Jones. :good

If Kessler beats Froch, Bute, Abraham, ward, Dirrell, plus Andrade and the Bute victories, he could be pushing top 75 of all time.

Calzaghe just about makes my top 100 at the moment and that's being kind. And this coming from soneone who travelled to Wales to cher Joe like he was my own Son against Kessler!!!

I think very little of Sturm, Abraham has some half decent wins though granted. He's a very flawed fighter with little workrate or much about him. He has a big dig, technically solid, tight guard. But thats about it, he's there to be outboxed/outworked or KO'd

To play another game how does anyone in the tourny do against a 43yo BHOPs? Froch and Abraham get thoroughly schooled, even Froch's biggest fans are agreeance on that 1. Taylor loses at this stage. Kessler is possibly the only 1 with a shot, but is too basic to beat BHOPs in my book. If a 46yo BHOPs came back in 2years and fought the winner I wouldn't be suprised to see him pull it off even at that age

Right now, Calzaghe is miles ahead of Kessler. Of course he is.

But Kessler has some solid wins now, and some impressive performances.

If he does beat a few of those guys and does it well, of course he could be ranked higher than Joe.

One h2h loss very obviously isn't the be all and end all, as PP suggested.

Are you seriously telling me that if Kessler had beaten Calz, but had lost to Sartison, PP would be saying the same thing about Sartison??? Of course not!!! You're taking his statement too literally and not in the context it was meant at all!!

P.s laughing faces don't make you right and they're not particularly clever either!!!:lol:

Dinamita, unless you are going to somehow defend this full of **** statement, GTFO the thread

    Lets re-examine this ******ation

So your proposition is Kessler will surpass Calzaghe the man who not only beat him, but the man who also has 7 wins superior to anything on Kessler's resume with just a few wins over some substandard B Class opponents.

Not only that you think the wins that could elevate Kessler above Calzaghe, include a man Calzaghe beat, a man that Hopkins who Calzaghe beat dominated, a man who just lost his last 3 big fights, and a man he's turned down a fight with and belt holders that are nowhere near proven at the very top level. The only man on the list who'd be up there with Calzaghe's top wins would be Dawson and we know Kessler turned that down

Do you want to reply to those points or just do your usual thing of coming back with some lame irrelevant bull****?

I fail to see how those wins would top Eubank, Reid, Kessler, Mitchell, Hopkins, Jones Jr, Lacy, Brewer, Veit, Woodall, Sheika, Bika plus 11years at the top.

If Ward and Dirrell turn out to be something special then perhaps but its doubtful.

The problem Kessler has the only fighter on the level of a Calzaghe/Old Hopkins is Dawson and he'd just have too much of everything because Kessler isn't a great fighter and never will be

If Kessler wins the tournament Calzage's Reputation would be enhanced. Calzage adjusted to Kesslers style and won the fight clearly. He also adjusted to Lacy, Jones and Hopkins in fights I had him clearly ahead. If Kessler wins and dominates it may entice Calzage to come back for a mega-fight rematch
