No, no... Calzaghe and Kessler are the same height. Look at the pictures before and during the fight. Bute is significantly taller than Kessler. Pavlik and Hopkins for example are both significantly taller than Kessler. In reality Kessler is a medium-sized SMW.

    :huh

Height is not the same as size in boxing. Cabellero is taller than Tyson.

im not sure you are right, if i recall correctly, then as long as mikkel is ranked, no matter what sanctioning body, he is under contract with palle..

and as long as they are ranked, as the case was with mads larsen and rudy markussen, their contracts was automatically re-newed for 2 more years..

thats also why larsens case took about 3-4 years, first he had to be UN-ranked, and at the last day of his ranking, his contract ran for 2 more years, due to that ****ed clause..

so if kessler cant get out the contract, he faces the exact same, the time it takes to get unranked plus 2 years..

These kind of clauses doesn´t sound legal to me though... But if Larsen got screwed over like he did then there will most likely be a judicial precedence and Mikkel will get ****ed as well.

If the right money is involved there's always a way around contract wrangles. I think it'd be the best thing for Kessler. He's a world class operator and his career needs to move on to the next level.

    Let the bidding begin.

IMO, that's a hell of a question. But I'm no lawyer.

    ODH's got the bread.:deal

Plus with the publicity team they have, Kessler would be instant hit. (like he deserves any way) Foookin Palle.

do you remember if larsen went to court..?

as palle was the only promoter at the time and has been almost constantly in denmark, the fighters didnt have a choice..

ive read johnny bredahls book, where he mentions his "negotiations" with palle, and bredahl went to a lawyer before signing palles contract, and was advised not to sign. the contract was written, so that palle was in control, no ifs or buts.. bredahl tried to negotiate, but palle just didnt give a ****, he knew that if bredahl wanted to be a pro, he only had one option.

so the fighters were left with 2 choices, either sign on palle´s terms or simply lose out on being pro..

Well the problem is that Palle has done pretty well with Kessler so far

    Worldchampion aged 25
    Unificationfight at home
Unificationfight in Wales against the number #1 guy - and recordpaying
    Worldchampion in comebackfight
Mandatory - but well paid fight in Germany
    HBO-contact

That's not bad ... the next opponent being very important - but it's not as easy as it might seem - Kessler isn't in a position where he can just pick his next opponent. Risk/reward isn't that good with Kessler.

But of course Palle should be much more in contact with his fighter - especailly now, where Kessler defato is his only fighter...

But please don't let this end in a three year courtcase and late comeback for Kessler!

I don't remember if Larsen went to court, but I think he did. I did a quick search for articles, but I think I will have to go through news archives to find out. I skimmed the Bredahl book and what Palle did to Johnny Bredahl was a disgrace... Palle is an amoral git with no respect for the well-being of his fighters.

I'm quite certain that Kessler will not fight in March unless he has thought his actions through and has a plan ready.

One thing is very important: should he choose to leave Palle, be sure he has a contract and fight signed already. Simply leaving Palle could leave him in no man's land.

Kessler has two intelligent choices. First: Some other promoter is ready to pay in order to get him. I'm not sure it can be good business though. Three fight nights make big money. Who would want to pay that? Second: he should fight three quick fights. In a year, he's free. Any other scenario is awful. No one would be a legit number one for years if Kessler stops fighting.

Can it be a threat to put pressure on Palle in order to have a big fight right away?

i think larsen went to court, but im not totally sure..

indeed.. but thats palle´s way, not only with bredahl, but with every fighter.. ive read tom bogs book aswell and he certainly had his problems with palle too.. even brian nielsen mentions problems with palle..

he doesnt even treat his stars good, then you gotta ask yourself , how does he treat those who arent stars.. palle should be shot..:yep

It's not like Kessler just quicky gets rid of 3 easy opponents, because it's Palle who makes every fight, and he's definitely not rushing them, and won't let Kessler run through 3 tune-ups. Especially now, as he probably understands that this is the end of the road with Kessler. Now he's going to make it absolutely sure he'll slap every penny out of Kessler in these fights.

You're right, he should have made three fights before opening his mouth.
