You are right, I'm being unreasonably hard on Taylor in some ways. I just can't bring myself to speak highly of the guy, those ****in bull**** decisions for HBO boy pissed me off no end :fire:twisted:

Best discussion I've had in a while though, it is rare these days :good

I will be most impressed, beyond what I've already seen from your great posting skills, if you can somehow beat that into the esteemed ESB poster TFFP's head!

What he doesn't understand is that we are all learning from the Calz-maniacs about how to super boost the opponents one's fave may hold wins over.

No difference what so ever in the two.

I thought Hopkins 2 was a little bull**** but in no way was it a robbery.

Winky, well, it depends what you score on. Winky dominated the fight but he only did it for six rounds, the other six rounds, I felt Taylor did enough to win them

When Taylor remembered to keep off the ropes, it wasn't even close, he was outlanding him and landing combos on Winky all night, really impressed me.

    :rofl

    It's fun though isn't it?

You can make yourself feel real good about your man like this

P.S. I have actually remained objective in this thread

Considering that most people before the fight saw it as an easy stylistic match up for Calzaghe vs Kessler, where as most I saw were predicting Taylor to beat Pavlik, that should tell you all you need to know about where to rate the wins.

Taylor was undisputed at his weight, having beaten the top guy in the weight class (whether or not you dispute the decisions)

Kessler was a unified champion but hadn't had the chance to face the elite prior to the Calzaghe fight.

All in all, Taylor is a better win for Pavlik.

Pavlik still has a lesser career than Calzaghe at this point but if Pavlik keeps going on the same line he has, he might get there.

He ain't gonna get there fighting Gary "Rocket back to Wales" Lockett though

Damn I want to see him fighting Abraham before I even think about Kessler/Calzaghe anyway. My gut feeling has always been Abraham for some reason, even though my head tells me Pavlik just completely overwhelms and outworks him during those inactive periods where he stands there with his turtle defence

Mandatory! Lockett is a mandatory :p

Yes, I think Abraham is a guy that is completely engimatic. That's why when I see people say "Kessler cleans 160-168", I immediately think of Pavlik and then second up is Abraham.

Powerful puncher, quick hands, very good composure and is a much more rounded puncher than both Pavlik and Kessler.

If he can work on the endurance aspect and not fight so much in spots, you've got yourself the next kingpin at Middleweight in my view.

I hear little whispers coming out of Germany that he struggles with the weight. It would help explain some of that inactivity. I'm going to be really intrigued to see if he maintains a higher work-rate when he beats up Miranda

If he did, he would be a real contender in the 168 landscape of the future. I just can't see him having success with such a low volume of punches, giving away easy rounds. He is forcing himself to have to win a stoppage really, which is difficult against the better fighters. I have to say, if I had to put my mortgage on it I'd pick Pavlik.

Yeah, bro, it's awful hard as one of the Pavlik faithful to beat the drums loud and proud about the upcoming Lockett bout. lol. but it is something he must do to get the bigger and better things on the way.

I actually got watch the Pavlik-Taylor fights with non-boxing fans who enjoyed. Those same people gazed over when they just saw highlights of the Kessler-Calzaghe fight. So, who puts on the better show, Pavlik or Kessler?

Well, regardless of what PW thinks.

My thoughts would instantly be "Holy ****, Enzo Calzaghe is the best trainer in the world, confirmed"

Immediately, the first thought would be to clean up the **** that would be running down both legs, vomit a bit trying to do it as the water to **** ratio going on in a toilet is not to be under rated, and then I will have to really look at the picture and decide from there. I try to block these thoughts out of my mind, so I haven't yet pondered the situation.:!:

Well, after watching Enzo Maccaranelli get KOed in what seemed the length of a commerical break, it would be a comeback as a trainer for Papa Calzaghe...so I'll be on the lookout for that snowball-in-hell chance.
