stoped sparing 2 weeks before the game.. the hand hurt so much that he couldn't punch..:blood it's no excuse but Kessler didn't look a 100% agaist Calzaghe.. And i think Calzaghe better not take that rematch.. Kessler didn't want to pull out and took a lesson.. the sharpness of kesslers punches was not as it have been but Calzaghe also made it hard for him.. Johnny Bredahl (former Bantam WBA Champ) said after the fight that it was like Kessler didn't put all power in the punches.. anyone knows more?
Kessler took his loss to the better man like a gentleman, unfortunately his shithouse fans can't. No theres not going to be a rematch, Calzaghe is off fighting other people and Kessler can now clean up 168 as I doubt JC will defend any of the belts ever again.
He said last night that his hands had been fine.......:!: Loose and Win with the same state of mind.....Mikkel's done that I think you might do that as well. Don't make excuses for him loosing to a better man on the day!!!
People keep saying he hand a hand injury but not indicating what hand, if he had a bad hand which hand was it?
Yep he lost fair and square.......but get used to it (a bit fare fetched) The Viking will rise!!!!:bbb
The guy on Setanta sports asked Kessler about his hand and he said there was no problem with it. The gracious Dane didn't try and make excuses even when a chance was presented to him on a silver platter. Respect to him as a boxer, warrior and sportsmen. Some people could learn by his example.
If anything Kessler was punching TOO hard! Loading up with his shots instead of just letting them go. And don't even think for a moment that his hand problems are worse than Calzaghes! Fighters deal with this particular type of injury throughout their career and just have to get over it.
He looked like he was punching bloody hard to me!! Please get your facts straight before making a fool of yourself. There's enough of them on here already!!
Unfortunately the matter seem to have some meat on it. A Daily news paper report that Kessler was afraid of loosing the pay day by admitting he was plagued by a hand injury and furthermore that his preparations was hampered by hand injuries, that is, no sparring. The news paper quote MK but I can not determine whether the quotes are manufactured or real.....will try again later today.
And if he did (which I don't believe)....He didn't make it an excuse for loosing to a better man on the day
