I'm just telling you what the news paper reported and how they quote MK. That's all.
Personally I can see why MK would'nt admit to any injuries before, in and around fight time. He's no jerk or sissy that want to protect his back in case of a loss and I think he has given full credit to JC for winning the fight fair and square. With that said MK have said repeatedly that he didn't feel 100%, lost some steam earlier than expected. My own view is that he did well, close to peak performance, but not quite there...some punch power was missing IMO.

It's not only a newspaper story. Kessler himself told about the injury in a post fight interview on national Danish tv , and I truly believe him!!
Of course it inflicted on his performance but not enough to use it as a main excuse to why he didn't prevail. And he didn't!
The guy is a true gentleman.......and maybe simply too nice for this sport?

Bull**** excuse, look at how hard he was throwing his right hands. And not just in the beginning, in the 12th he was really going for broke!

Well Mikkel Kessler, the man himself said the reason he lost was he was trying to punch too hard instead of throwing combinations. He also said no hand injuries. End of story.

Yes, but my guess is the point some are trying to get across is that the hands were okay because he held back sparring the last two weeks before the fight?

On another node had JC been a few years younger I would have loved to see them fight in MKs back yard. I would love to see who had learned the most from the first fight. I also know that to some danish viewers the exact score-board was a little harsh in the end.

I am a Kessler backer and I was as sure as one can be that Kessler would win this one. Maybe his hand was injured, maybe not - frankly, I don´t care. Kessler entered the ring, did his best, but lost fair and square - that´s it!
As far as I know that´s also how Kessler feels about it, and the fact that he hasn´t been trying to insinuate anything about any injury, makes me even more of a fan. I think we should follow his example - show some class, realize he lost to a better man, and stop discussing this subject, because there´s a huge risk that we end up as whining twats!

Hand injury or not, Kessler wasnt able to land anyways. He missed most of his shot.

When you have an hand injury before a fight, they froze your hand so that you can boxe and not feel anything. So in the end it doesnt change much.

Kessler doent need better hand in order to beat calzaghe but more boxing skills ... :patsch

If his hand got injured during the fight he would have stopped punching with one of the hands. See Clottey vs Margarito or Mayweather v Famouso Hernandez too see what a fighter does when his hand is REALLY hurt. They simply stop throwing with it, or go with light shots to the body. Watch boxing much?

Okay. People here just don't get it so I will try again. There is a point in MK missing preparations because of hand injury. PREPARATIONS...SPARRING ETC. ETC.

that still boils down to EXCUSES. why didnt he postpone the fight then? funny, i didnt hear him say anything on tv about it after the fight. This just sounds like bitter fans of Mikkel making excuses for him. The outcome would have been the same with or without those extra weeks of sparring or whatever the **** you are talking about that make **** difference in a fight.
