atsch mads larsens comments on hausslers chances, speak for itself!! hausslers ONLY weapon against kessler is to do as joe calzaghe did, try to win with an higher workrate than kessler....OMG. but kessler have to fight danillo if he will keep the wba belt..a sad day for boxing IMO.:-(
i have said before. i think it is a good showcase fight for kessler. germany is a big market/kessler lives there and it is a fight he will showcase his abilty. although holding the fight in denmark will mean a loss on paper for palle`s as the danes will watch for free on german tv.
he lives in monaco now, but used to live in flensborg(germany) but yes it should be easy money for kessler.
i have no problem with the fight at all.IF it wasnt for the WBA worldchampionship. i really dont think danillo haussler should have the chance...thats just my oppinion. BUT the fight seems to be made...i hope kessler will prepare 100%.and show us that he´s on he´s way back to the top in smw. then hopefully some great fights will come a long. mikkel kessler is one of my favorites!
Beyer-Kessler was televised on ARD (free TV). He punched the **** out of (the very popular) Beyer. Did it help to get access to the German market? No. None of his next fights (Andrade, Calzaghe, Sartison) was broadcasted in Germany. German TV channels only broacast fights of the German promoters: ARD: Sauerland fights ZDF: Universum fights DSF: Öner and SES fights prosieben: Spotlight (subsidiary of Universum) Only RTL is not restricted to a promoter. It only shows some big fights, though. And Kessler isn't such a big name to appear on RTL. Unless he doesn't join a German promoter (or faces a German opponent) he's absolutely no chance to appear on German TV. BTW: I highly doubt that Kessler-Häußler will appear on ARD. Our channels prefer fights in which the home guy wins.
I agree with Sean on this one - fighting Haussler is not as bad as one can easily be lead to believe. Kessler is adding new aspects to his boxing - rehoning his skills. Furthermore it will be a test to see, if Kessler can keep focus, when the opposition isn't great. If Kessler can overcome these "hurdles" I think we will see the best version of Kessler or what the best version will look like.
my cam is no longer working but i watched boxing on premier sport channels from germany and i have seen overseas fights on that channels. i do not mean kessler to sign for a german promotor, i just mean he will get a large tv audience if he fights hausler in germany. no difference to having exposure in germany to having exposure in usa still the same thing. calzaghe has been fighting on and off american tv for 10 years , yet only had one fight there . yes i know full well the german tv stations , i can even remember back in the 1980`s german boxing was shown on RTL . i have been watching german boxing for well over 2 decades.
**** the WBA! They make some bull**** mandatories plus all that "super" and "regular" champ bull****. Kessler should vacate and go for bigger fights.
Kessler needs to ditch his belt and search for big fights at 168. Maybe he's waiting for Calzaghe to relinquish his belts and then unify again?
