    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ot...er-urges-British-fans-to-back-Carl-Froch.html

Kessler said that Froch had "the heart of a lion and a champion" and was the worthy successor to Calzaghe.

Ten months ago, Froch won the vacant World Boxing Council supermiddleweight title, the belt once held by Calzaghe, in a 12-round barnstormer against Canadian Jean Pascal, and defended that title in the most dramatic fashion with a last-ditch knockout of Jermain Taylor in the United States in April.

Shorn of a current UK television deal, Froch has been invisible on the British spectrum. The fight with Pascal drew an estimated 5 million viewers on ITV, yet his promoter Mick Hennessy has had little luck in securing a UK deal since then.

Kessler joined British world champion Froch in the Nottingham Council Chambers on Wednesday ahead of a novel move: The Super Six series - bringing together the world’s six top ranked 168lb division fighters, which sees Froch fight in the first of three group contests in his home town against American Andre Dirrell on October 17.

Kessler and Froch will face each other in the group stage of the tournament, with the Nottingham man the bookies' favourite.

Kessler said: “As a fighter you only think one fight at a time, but if I have to fight Carl, I think it will be a massive fight. I have watched Carl become a world champion.

"Before I fought Joe Calzaghe, two years ago, he was not a big name then. But he’s a big name now, he has a dangerous kind of style. I admire him. I think it’s going to be a great fight"

"He has the heart of a champion, and you have to have this in this sport. I think a fight between the two of them would have been very, very good. Calzaghe is a difficult fighter, who makes life difficult for you, has great handspeed but not great power. But in Carl, you have a real man, a real warrior.

"To get up off the floor against Taylor and then beat him in the US showed him what he is made of. Britain has a genuine world champion in this guy from Nottingham.”

Whilst I agree with Kessler about Froch's heart and abilities I'm surprised to hear he's bookies favourite to beat Kessler.

Yeah I called a Dirrell fanboy out on his offer of an avatar bet a while back, he backed the **** down.

I'm already 1 and 0 on avatar bets thanks to Froch's last outing against Taylor.
