If Kessler returns to boxing, a rematch could very well be vs. Froch, who would love to get at rematch. The refs comment to both fighters at the end of the fight said it all: "That was a HELL of a fight!"
To say that Froch would have stopped Kessler if he stepped up a bit, is simply wishfull thinking from those who likes to see it that way. Because thats actually what he did in the 12th round, and he got "rocked" just as much as Kessler. They were both fighting their ass off in that last round, but no one landed 100% clean, so a possible ko could def. have gone both ways. No way Froch could have done better than he did!
I rescored this fight the other day and had it 115-114 Froch, a draw going into the 12th. Kessler's aggression was less effective and Froch's jab landed better on the night..
I watched it again recently, it was the foty. Kessler pressing the action and his great bodyshots, which made Froch's production go down, in the early and middle rounds is why he won the fight by a few rounds.
Kessler was not rocked by that punch. He stepped back a bit and kept chugging forward. His legs were fine. Froch was the most hurt in this fight by a long way.
I had Froch winning it two points. Looked like Kessler Throwing more but Froch dd Throw the cleaner harner blows there IMO.
