http://sporten.tv2.dk/article.php/id-9376501.html?forside Hhmmmm now even I got to think that Mikkel might not have been 100% for the fight against Joe :huh
Nope not at all ...still think Joe won fair and square....but I can't stop thinking if Mikkel were rushed into the fight
And how's the fact he is getting operated anything to do with making up excuses????? He haven't stated that he lost because of his hand atsch
You are right! Kessler is having an unnecessary operation done because he is looking for an excuse for having been beaten by 4 rounds by a top p4p fighter...
he looked 100% to me. Was throwing both hands at full power. The hand definately did not affect him during the fight. Actually Kessler even said he was 100%.
He's not making excuses. He's said he lost fair and square. Hell, he even waited a few days to say his hand was injured to not take away from Joe's glory. Considering the injury was serious enough that he needs to get surgery on it, I think Kessler's handled this in a very classy manner.
Talking about excuses the proclaimed flu Kessler supposedly caught some weeks before the fight now turns out to be an "excuse" for a hand injury that prevented him from sparring. (source: www.bt.dk sports today.) My own problem with that story from his coach is that, as far as I remember, the flu was exactly three weeks before the fight. So, would loosing 1-2 weeks sparring three weeks away from the fight influence your peak performance? If indeed the latter is the case I can understand why MK was low on air in the second half.
He may have had hand problems, but it did not make a difference in the fight. Mikkel Kessler fought the exact same fight as any other, as a matter of fact, he probably fought better then any other fight. Hands may have been hurt, but he didnt fight like it. True Champ
