According to Btalk, that's the plan. No venues set for either fight, but Steve Kim mentioned Ward vs. Dirrell could end up in a Vegas casino.

Makes no sense. Why bother wasting two fights in one night.

I'm digging this double header. Speeds the already molasses moving tourney towards it's climax. I'm betting ten cows on green ko5

Ward must have been playing hide and seek in some of your mothers mouths. There's no way a guy can have so many haters for being an underrated world champion in his early twenties while partaking in the most competitive tourney the super middle weight division has ever seen.
    Wipe your mouth hater.

Cool, but I really thought Green was going to come out swinging.

Green is a fringe contender, just happy to go the distance against top 10 fighters.

After getting shut out, what confidence he had will be gone as well.

I love the doubleheaders. It makes that night a big international event, especially when Ward/Green didn't even have an undercard bout. That sucks.

It definitely makes more sense than having Kessler/Green in the main event a separate weekend, which in all honestly is not worthy of a headline spot on a Saturday night card for an American audience.

Get stage 3 finished in September, then start the semis in Jan/Feb and have the finale next summer.

For all the bitching about how long it's taking, from 11/09-07/11, Ward could have fought Kessler, Green, Dirrell, Abraham and Froch in under two years. Who else is putting together those kinds of fights in such short order?

If that happens, then it's awesome news for boxing fans. If only we could get more of those double headers every year.

It would also be amazing to stage a doubleheader featuring Hopkins-Bute with Dawson-Pascal on HBO....but that's only in Paradise City where the grass is green and the girls are pretty...

It would make for a well-balanced program.

A brutal domination and quick KO, followed by a pure boxing match.

ward vs dirrell will be very interesting. Kessler will mental break green. the best fight of stage 3 will be froch vs abraham. It more then likely won't go to long but I have a feeling it will be a war.

what's been lacking imo from the super 6 is undercard fights. I'm just so used to seeing undercards

That woudl be great. Its about time that the super six went back to having two epic fights on the same night.

I get why they're staying away from that, though - too much potential for distraction or having the main event overshadowed if it's a stinker. The focus should be on the tournament.

That said, I like the idea of pairing the fights, so it's not just one by itself (and then the commentators blabbing).
