It's unlikely with the injury but man if Kessler came back and fought Ward in a place where his head butting was illegal that'd be awesome!!!

He'd still get his ass kicked. Ward is just too skilled for Kessler. They could fight in Kessler's home town and Ward would still win at least 10 rounds.

No way dude! In the later rounds when kessler saw it was slipping from him he started giving as good as he got but that bloody spoiling from Ward! In kessler's home town that **** would get him a DQ & I don't think Ward can beat a guy like Kessler on a level playing field.

Kessler would still be beaten, but at least he would have a fair chance to redeem himself.

Kessler can't adapt for ****. He would still lose. Kessler for some reason is highly overrated. It amazes me.

Kessler is rated right where he should be, a damn good fighter, no more no less, it's people like you who sell him short.

Same results IMO...Kessler has shown that he doesnt adapt well when he cant imply his initial game plan!

I think Ward beats him even worse this time!

Where the hell is this coming from? The last we've heard is that Kessler is out of the ring through at least the rest of 2010 because of his eye, if not forever.

We don't know the nature of Dirrell's injury but something tells me it's nowhere near as grave as Kessler's.

I don't sell him short at all. In fact I'm one of the few to call a square a square . A circle a circle and an overrated fighter an overrated fighter . The man will get beat again . Me selling him short has nothing to do with it.

He's like any other fighter. Overated by some underated by others.
My opinion is that he's a very good, worldclass fighter with some noticeable flaws.
As for the Ward fight. I doubt he'd he ever beat him. Ward has his number. It's all moot though. Can't imagine Ward ever fighting in another guy's backyard if he can possibly avoid it.

So he'll get beat, and? I don't see anyone calling him an ATG, I don't see anyone even calling him the best of his era, I've never heard anyone say he's unbeatable.

In the history of the SMW division he's top 5, beats 99% of any SMW to exist, that's fact.

    So who's overrated him exactly?

There are two flavors of whiners that trumpet the "Kessler's overrated" stuff.

    You have Calzaghe haters.

Then you have the bitter Captain America crowd (or more precisely, the very specifically pro black American crowd) who think that Ward and Dirrell should have been the tournament favorites from the very beginning and begrudge the boxing community at large calling Kessler the outright favorite initially - even though Ward and Dirrell were still mere prospects who had yet to strut their stuff on a world class stage prior to the start of the tournament.

Favoring either of them heading in would have been just as silly as favoring Kessler now (you know, if he was still in it).
