Yet again the Brits unnerve a fighter - Tszyu, Lacy, Manfredo, Castillo, Kessler and next is Floyd. They say it doesn't affect them but British fans want your blood and they get shook.
They dont show much boxing around your trailerpark now do they? That clearly shows in your knowledge... Or are you just stupid?
I have a lot of respect for Kessler, and I'm glad he's maintained a positive outlook after the loss, but I don't like this talk of the hostile crowd, him missing Palle, not being 100%, and also his claim that Calzaghe said "I don't think we should have a rematch, because you'll just be better and I might not do so well. I don't like rematches." I preferred his attitude in his post fight interview, no need to provide any sort of excuses, he did his best and can hold his head high with that loss, as Calzaghe really is a magician.
I think Kessler can beat the rest of the super middies. But if he fights another top notch fighter again he needs to make some monumental changes in his gameplan and learn how to adjust. He looked absolutely clueless at times in that fight. And most telling was his corner behavior. His corner sucked. No endswell, lousy input, and it's very apparent that Kessler had the wrong gameplan and wasn't prepared for what Calzaghe gave him. Physically he's strong but he looked like a beaten and confused fighter in his corner. He needs a whole new team that includes a serious boxing mind if he's ever to face another elite fighter.
The mark of a great fighter is the ability to come back after a huge defeat. So yes . . . hopefully Kesller can return stronger. :yep
Even is it was true that he did overtrain/have injuries, those comments are usually just done in retrospect after losing. But just before the fight, his team must have thought that those will not really make a difference. Otherwise why would they push thru with the fight having these disadvantages agaisnt the best ever fighter he has yet to face? Now that he ost, of course they will look for "what have went wrong" all in retrospect and believe me, they will never run out of those.
Kessler lost, but he left it in the ring. He went all out, but Joe's just too elusive and tricky(kind of reminds me of a big Sweet Pea). Nothing to be ashamed of, a great learning experiencing, and Kess will be back stronger than ever. I still think he beats anyone 168 and below, except for Joe of course. Great show of technical skill and courage. I hope to see more of Mikkell.
