sure he showed heart against calzaghe, he took some big body shots but hes not the destroyer that hbo made him out to be. He couldnt put andrade away who wasnt even throwing any punches. pavlik would beat him, hopkins, so would others. I TOLD EVERYONE LONG AGO CALZAGHE WOULD PICK KESSLER APART

Grow up. Pavlik is a B level compared to the talent that was in the ring for this event.:-(

Oh god it was only a matter of time.

Another dumb American fanboy with no idea about boxing.

Kessler would beat Pavlik and destroy Taylor.

Kessler is the real deal, Calzaghe is just one in a generation.

Kessler would destroy Pavlik. Joe is just a freak who can adapt to anything.

That was the first time I've watched a complete Calzaghe fight and I am amazed at how good he is. Kessler is also very special and a top ten P for P. The key to Calzaghe's victory was his ability to take Kessler's big shots early and keep his jab in Kessler's face throughout the fight, not allowing him to set himself for big shots.
A great fight for two brilliant fighters. Props to both of them.

Style-wise Kessler had much trouble. Calzaghe is a quick south paw, and Kessler was never able to get his best weapon going, his jab! Kesssler without his jab had much trouble being effective , and wasnt able to adapt a Plan B. Kessler relies heavily on his jab, Calzaghe nullified the jab, and out-worked Kessler, that is the story of the fight.

Make no mistake, Kessler is a very good fighter, he is skilled, quick, has a great jab, handspeed, and is a very large, and strong SMW. Kessler didnt win two World titles by accident, and many picked him to beat Calzaghe.

I was saying long ago that Kessler is good but nothing special. He has his size, youth and good power going for him against his previous opponents. But He is nothing special, just a purely orthobox boxer who relies on one-twos all night.

I was saying his many time on this board, but I won't waste time to dig up my previous posts just to prove this.

Present day, Joe Fraizer could outpoint Ali, and there would be people on here saying Ali was nothing special and over-rated .

Henry Cooper almost Ko'd him, Liston took a dive, Chavulo put him the hospital injuring his liver , etc, bull****. Posters are like vultures, any time a fighter loses they are nothing special instantly . In boxing there most only be about 1 good fighter in each weight class and the rest are bums.

The fact is both fighters confirmed their status

I watched Leonard vs Hearns after this fight and I don't think either Kessler or Calzaghe are in their league

Kessler is actually the guy that have given Calzaghe his second "closest" fight only surpassed by Reid if you judge by the scorecards.;) And considering Calzaghe was fighting "away" and with an injury against Reid, I don't think Kessler has anything to be ashamed of.
