He would throw and land his punches with more authority, I guess since losing to Calzaghe he hasn't looked the same.

Very true. He's not nearly as sharp, or as quick pulling the trigger as he once was. The Kessler of 3 years ago woulda lit up Froch like a Xmas tree.

Kessler is pretty much the same fighter he always was. However, he's fighting better guys with whom he doesn't match up quite as well.

i think he is pretty much the same - just showed respect to Froch's punching power... as well he should have done

tarver had a good point. kessler isnt snapping off his 1-2 like he used to and he is looping a lot of shots that he never used to. correctable.

When would Kessler come in with a looping overhand right? He looked sloppy last night.

    Exactly.

That was the best Kessler you will ever see, and he STILL LOST to Froch who got robbed.

He was missing with the straight right that's why.

He was running out of options.

Taylor could actually land the big overhand right, Kessler couldn't.

    Mother ****er lost the fight.

this is inaccurate. taylor's very very effective overhand right was a counter over the top of a left jab. another good point of tarver's when he said it was a lost art. taylor telegraphed most his rights. but the counter is what hurt froch and kelly. kessler wasnt counter punching in this fight like he used to. big difference in taylor's right and kesslers.

OK, so a slow telagraphed punch is the answer to not landing a shorter more accurate punch. That makes sense to me.

    Oh my bad...

You're right, against Lucas, Beyer and wait a second? Who the **** are these guys I'm talkin about, Kessler USED to counterpunch.

Well news flash, Froch, Ward etc, ain't Beyer Lucas, Andrade and the rest of those bums.

When you use Froch's particular defense, yes and overhand right is effective.

Hey, not everyone uses that one dimensional stand up fightin that's popular in Europe.

    Froch clearly doesn't.

that's what i'm saying. by his own admission kessler wasnt counterpunching in this fight. we've had this discussion about taylor's "bow ans arrow" right that he throws as opposed to his counter right over the top of a jab. kessler was not countering with the right over froch's jab. froch makes it difficult b/c of the angles he tosses that left from but it can be done as taylor showed.
