Yes....but if they decide to trade punches who has the advantage?Personally I would guess JC based on the load he delivers. On the other hand I wonder if MK has the punch to take down JC in the process of trading. As I see it, some of MKs peak power originates from his foot-position which is normally not ideal during close up trading. Look at how MK stands perfect in the Beyer and Rodriguez knock outs.

I will have to disagree on this one...

On a more serious note. The Kessler Calzaghe fight analysis has me baffled. I just can't think of a way for Kessler to defend himself against Calzaghes use of angles. I sure hope he's got a solid gameplan... :bbb

I don't think it'll be a toe to toe trading fight. Kessler will be moving in and out. Left and right. Kessler has beatiful ring generalship.
Calzaghe is a genius of angles and movement so I don't see it like this. When Kessler gets hit he moves left, right or backwards, so if he is to win, he'll need to move around.
I think it'll be difficult for Kessler to win on points, Calzaghe throws alot of punches and he is fighting in his own backyard...
But it might not go to the cards. Kessler has unbeliveble accuracy, and if he can land some of those early on, it might be over before the 5 round.
Calzaghe can take a punch but I'm not sure if he can take the power punches Kessler should try to land in the early rounds.
Kessler needs to have fast hand and feet if he is to win.
I'm looking forward to seeing how his jab works. Kessler is ambidextrous, so the left against southpaw Joe will be interesting. Beyer's face looked like a pizza after 3 rounds. And Kessler pretty much just used his left throughout those rounds. Mixing it a bit with the right.

Many "if's" will be answered november the 4.

looking for weaknesses that aren't there now huh? you danish boys are getting awfully nervous now :yep your boy wanted this fight, and calzaghe is gonna bring a whoopin on him.

calzaghe has a quality chin. watch the first round of lacy-calzaghe. towards the end of the first round lacy catches calzaghe with a beautiful right hook. calzaghe stands there and returns fire with a vicious combo to the head, bouncing lacy all over the place.

if we were going down the route of who's chin has been more tested out of these two, then it would be your boy losing that one.

I can follow your line of thinking, however, I'm looking for ways the knock out can come about. I think we both agree that it will not be easy to catch JC in locked positions like the Bayer and Rodriguez KNOs.
Also it seems we agree that MK probably needs a KNO victory. As for now I see the best possibility for a KNO coming during trading, provided MK has enough power with non-ideal foot-positioning. That's actually what got me started looking for detailed vids of MKs KNO power this morning. Any "clever" ideas as to how MK can get the KNO?

Yes! But I don't recall any really heavy handed oponents. I think that's part of what detracts from JCs resume. Please enlighten me if you know of any hard hitters on his resume. I also read the Eubank interview where he claims he was not properly prepared for the JC fight. So please don't bring up the Eubank argument.

It has already been mentioned, but the Mitchell fight gives a good answer your previous question about whether Calzaghe recovers quickly or not.

veeerrryyyy solid. he's been knocked down twice in his career, got up the first time to smash mitchell out in the same round. the other time he got up and cruised past salem, knocking him down in the 12th.

it's an absurd point, but hey, here's another for ya, kesslers jab is ****! :D

Mitchell was not the most skilled, but he was a 1 punch KO hitter, when he caught guys right, he put them done or had them on the way out, Calzaghe was only down for 3 seconds and recovered fast.

Against Salem, broken hand, comes into the consideration because of the concentration on the pain in the hands. A lot of guys with good chins have broken or sprained something and later got dropped partially because of this reason.

Took some of Lacy's bombs and didn't blink. Proven solid chin.
