    Didn't he ?

I'm not saying he's definitely shot or washed-up, BUT he didn't perform (or wasn't allowed to perform) in any way to suggest he's still a "live" fighter.

The jury's still out but he showed NOTHING in that fight.
Maybe he's fine, and it was just Ward, or Ward and an "off-night". Maybe Kessler was never much good anyway.
But it wouldn't surprise me if he's just shot, for whatever reason.

And I'm not saying this with any agenda. It's just an indeterminable factor, an UNKNOWN, going in to tomorrow's fight with Froch. We just dont know.
For all I know he could come out at his very best ever. And if Froch ups his game he might still beat a "best ever" version of Kessler.

I personally don't buy all the Kessler is "washed up" talk. We'll see on Saturday, i'm very excited and can't imagine anything less than a spectacular fight.

Guys who are trained in the European style and spend most of their time fighting fighters with a similar style tend to have trouble with stick and movers, who are usually and American product. Froch will be much more Kesslers cup of tea. He could be on the decline, Ward was the first real fight he'd had since Calzaghe so it's hard to tell if a guys slipping when he's bowling over chumps but it could just have been a horrible style match for him. Wait and see this saturday before writing Kessler off. By the way I'm picking Froch but I'm not a sure as some it'll be an easy fight for him.

He kinda looked like a man without a back up plan. He continued to do exactly the same thing over and over even tho it wasn't working. He made no adjustment what so ever.

Kessler has had a million injuries thoughout his career. He has visibly slowed in the last 3-4 fights, and so, yeah, it might be that his body is simply worn out. People have long had doubts whether he could fight past 31.

Actually, most of Kesslers opponents (at least the early ones) were americans. Check out boxrec.com.

Froch is more likely to be shot................he's taken more punishment. I think he left something in the Pascal fight.

I like to think that Kessler has enough left to win this fight.........although perhaps too little to win the tournament.

I think it is a mix of different things. Perhaps the two most important ones were: 1) that Kessler underestimated Ward.. He has said that he hopes Froch underestimates him, and he has learned the consequences of that. 2) that Ward and his team really gave Mikkel an extremely hard time up to the fight and the ref in the fight. For example, he was told that a particular press meeting would last half an hour, so he didn't bring warm clothes because they would go straight back to the hotel. Instead, Ward's people showed up in nice and warm clothes and dragged out the while thing for hours while Kessler was freezing. This is just one of many stories about the lenghts Ward's team went to to get to Kessler.

This fight will of course be different, but Froch will still be a formidable opponent to overcome. The Cobra has never lost, and has the biggest self confidence of anyone - in boxing perhaps .. next to a prime Toney or someone.. Really an immense self confidence. He simply refuses to lose.

I can believe it. Ward cheated like a mofo in the ring with the intentional butting and although Kessler was completely overwhelmed it did look as though he was having a massive off night.

As for freezing his butt off, man is Kessler poilite - I woulod have been taking clothes off my entourage or simply just get up and leave to get some clothing and then come back.

I think Ward will be exposed if he faces Dirrell or even Froch but I hope Kessler does a number on 'The Cobra' in the meantime as he is an unlikeable SOB at the best of times. I think Froch might be looking to finish Kessler in a devasting fashion though to get one over on Calzaghe.

I know Ward´s team did alot to herass Kessler but I doubt it would have changed the outcome if he had put on warmer clothes at the press-conference
Ward was the better boxer . faster, smarter and more dirty.
Kessler could have done more, but it looked like he was a bit stunned by Ward´s punches and head-butts and therefore had problems figuring out what to do.
