I understand the decision to leave but what did he expect? Kessler's not preparing for some 3rd rate opponent. It's the fight of his life. He'd be doing himself no favors to take it easy on his sparring partners.
All this shite we hear now about boxers making sparring partners quit in the run up to fights is exactly that - shite. It's all total rubbish, PR spin etc and means nothing come the fight itself. I wish camps would stop trying to leak info like this, it's boring.
It sounds like Barker "asked" for it, because on day one he apparently came out fighting like thunder and lightning and put pressure on Kessler, and Kessler was very impressed by him according to teampalles site. Perhaps Kessler thought two could play that game. But I agree, this doesn't mean anything in terms of the Calzaghe fight, and I don't think anybody have said it did so lower the defenses a bit.
If barker was trying to fight kessler than he deserved what he got, like williams when he tried to wrestle lennox lewis in sparring and got the sack.
It means nothing, but the fact than Kessler is ready to kill, every time you hear from Kessler you can see he's ready. If calzaghe win's he is f***king good
