You don't understand. According to the Miranda fans on this board the fact that he broke Abraham's jaw alone warranties a victory. They seem to forget the rest of the fight and the fact that Randy Neumann took something like 5 points away from Miranda when the limit is usually 3 points before disqualification. Miranda had that fight given to him on so many levels and he LOST it. How many times do I have to say it? In his 2 biggest and most meaningful fights Miranda is 0 for 2 yet somehow he's qualified to lead a slander campaign on Mikkel Kessler.
What is there to understand?? Name me one other instance in WORLD boxing where a fighter has such an injury, caused by a punch, the fighter tells the Ref that he DOES NOT want to continue, an incredibally long time is given to the fighter to be tended to, etc... and it's not ruled a TKO??? Seriouslly?? And as for the whole "not getting AA out of there", well first IMO, he did, as I stated above. Secondly, AA is a top shelf Professional Boxer who went into survival mode. It is next to impossible to stop such a fighter who's goal becomes to SURVIVE. Yes, Miranda's crude skills may have helped AA to survive and Miranda punching himself out in attempt to dispatch him actually even gave AA chances to fire back with bombs of his own, landing on an exhausted Miranda.
I agree, well said! Kessler knows how good he is and it stings he lost not only to Joe but also his belts of which he had two so ofc he wants to fight for a title and get one back and regain some respect asap.
Ok let's start at the beginning. Abraham wanted to quit. Fine. Did the fight end? No! Regardless of the circumstances, are we to ignore the fact that 7 rounds took place after the ref/doctor/corner whatever meeting? 7 official rounds went into the book and once that happens it doesn't matter what Pipe Wrenched of ESB says. Look at it like this. A football team is on offense at midfield trailing by 5 points with 3 seconds to go. The quarterback throws an incomplete pass into the endzone but a horrendous penalty is called on the defense, say pass interference. They have to run an untimed play and the offense wins it on a miracle hail mary. Now let's look at the matter from a defensive perspective. Yes, the call was horrible and extremely unfair but a play was run after the fact and it was a touchdown. Regardless of whether or not you think the situation was fair, an official play was run and it resulted in a touchdown. Now back to Abraham/Miranda. I can totally understand the protest of team Miranda but the fight (for whatever reason) DID NOT end after the 5th round so the argument is officially null in void although it'll be run into the ground for years on boxing websites. What are you gonna do? Go back and erase the fact that 7 official rounds took place? Might as well go back and change every bad scorecard while you're at it.
Yes it does!!! better axe somebody!!! no just kidding my man. To be honest, I'm only entertained by Miranda and don't really care who he lost to or didn't. Just see people unloading on him all time for the AA debacle, which IMO had degrees of horse **** happening from both sides of the fence. I only threw in the top shelf boxer, who's known for his defensive capabilities, going into survival mode deal because I get tired of people bullshitting Miranda and anything he could do in the future for boxing because he didn't dispatch an injured opponent. As for the Football analogy, you're a lot of fun to chat with!! You do have a ton of those. The other day when we were talking you used something about 3 people going out in a boat, 1 guy shoots the other 2, so when he returns there's only 1 story to go by. Good fun brother!!:good :good And BTW, whether I agree or not with the penalties distributed to Miranda, 5 points in total, all AA had to do was win 2 rounds to take it. And seeing that he survived until the 12th bell, he obviously won, that what Pipe Wrenched of ESB has to say about that. (although, I THINK we do agree that it SHOULD have been a TKO for Miranda, but it wasn't so AA won).
Haha. We've come face to face in a few of these Miranda/Kessler debates as of late. Your points have been good so I've really had to get creative with my replies. I was able to bring out the football analogy cuz ur American whereas it would have fallen on deaf ears to a European poster. It's all good and I understand (and agree with you) about the way the broken jaw issue was handled. Not the first time there has been foul play in Germany. Heck, just a few weeks ago the referee helped Wayne Braithewaite's opponent up after a knockdown. Helped him up dude. Luan Krasniqi got something like a 15 count against Lamon Brewster in '05 after a knockdown as well. I'm not gonna turn this into a Germany-bashing session but I will say that they always have colorful things happening over there in the squared circle.
Sorry about that brother. It's sort of like switching languages. I didn't know you were lurking about.
Yup. I hadn't had a chance to see that one until fairly recently, and to say the least it was astounding!! Reid got penalized for punching Ottke in the face!!
