Selvfølgelig skal Kessler være stolt, men hans resume har han mødt 3 A level fightere, og blev udbokset mod 2 af dem. Froch er en rigtig god sejr, men stadig lidt for tynd hvis du spørger mig.
Me too, because then we could have Kessler with the WBO face the winner of Froch-Bute which could be massive... But if he beats cloud then it would be his second biggest win in his career, that needs A-level victories if you ask me :good
I think moving up in weight is a bad idea for Kessler. He's been damaged enough at super middleweight, he doesn't need to move up and take bigger shots from bigger guys. He was knocked out of the Super Six Boxing Classic due to injury, isn't that enough??? How much more damage does that eye need to take? And how much more is he thinking it WILL take before he is forcibly extricated from boxing??? This is a poor decision and he will undoubtedly pay the price for it.
I dont think this is a good idea. Kessler imo is well suited to SMW. He is a bit above average size, but not as big as Andrade, Froch, Bute, or Dirrell or Bute. Fighters who are successful going up weight divisions are usually the ones driven by speed and technique... but mostly speed. This is why RJJ, Mayweather etc are successful going up, while fighters like Abraham and others are not. Abraham was well suited to MW where he was very strong for the division. Kessler is technically better than AA but I still am not sure this is a good idea.
Stieglitz is a big clean and textbook fighter with very good stamina. Well suited to Kessler really, because although he is a good fighter that few can beat... he does not have the things that trouble Kessler (ridiculous stamina ... only Calzaghe has that... and all the dirty moves coupled with very good boxing brain .. like Ward). Stieglitz is orthodox... and Kessler is probably the best ever textbook orthodox SMW. But Kessler says that is is the hand that is still troubling him. Perhaps Stieglitz wanted more money just to wait a month more... and in the end they had to let that fight go...
