I just noticed that in the latest Ring magazine ratings Mundine is #2 challenger and Kessler #1 to the Ring magazine world SMW title and according to their principles, a fight between #1 and #2 will determine the champion!

This means that if Calzaghe beats Hopkins, he will be the LHW Ring world champion, giving up the SMW title and thus making a fight between Mundine a fight for the Ring title (The most prestigious title of all and the one most Americans consider the "true" championship belt).

That ought to give Mundine incentive to give up the Soliman fight, and get HBO onboard!

Go get him Kessler :bbb :bbb :bbb !

Can Calzaghe not be a two weight Ring champion? If he defends within a year then i'm sure he can hold both belts.

Wouldn't Mayweather have been Welter and Light-welter at some point then?
    I don't think he was.

Great move by ring magazine if Calzaghe isn't coming back to 168, and I don't think he is. No bull**** like the heavyweight division just give the belt to the winner of the 2 most proven fighters at 168.

Mundine will have to honour his contract and fight Soliman still but as the outcome will be prettymuch the same as their last bout(Mundine stopping Soliman very easily)i cant see there being a problem with a bout between Kess and Mundine by November.
