I recently heard quotes from a phone interview with F. Warren where he, when asked about a rematch between Kessler and JC, doesn't rule it out but also says that his plans are going in other directions. My feeling is that Frank digs quite some boxfans would like a rematch. If anyone can confirm this quote please do!!!! I say, if MK can put himself back on track within a year, why not a rematch in Las Vegas?
Imo kessler needs to go to the us change promoters and get a new trainer. Imo kessler could be champ again and be champ for a long time if he was trained properly. He needs a trainer that can improve his footwork and not to depend on the jab and right hand all the time. New trainer and couple of warm ups and why not a jc rematch. He hurt jc a few times and caught him with two wicked uppercuts pops hopkins fight is not going to happen
Kessler has done alright so far hasn't he? He just came up short against an exceptional talent - there's no shame in that. He'll be back as a better boxer having learnt a lot from the 36 minutes he shared with Calzaghe. As for the change of promoter: Palle delivered Calzaghe and a massive payday. If Palle is really ill then he needs to walk away from boxing all together but I think Kessler is loyal and will stick with him, I don't see a need for a new promoter. A new trainer however, may be beneficial. I think he's gone about as far as he can with the current lot.
Your a bias idiot. The shitty reason was two blatent rabbit punches which are illegal in case you were wondering. And even though Calzaghe won clearly, it wasnt a breeze for him. Lots of rounds were very close and it wasnt until the later rounds where he actually established dominance. Nearly won every round??? There were at least 3 rounds that were certainly Kesslers and a few that were pretty even (that couldve gone his way).
I really think that fight conclusively showed us who was the best in the division. Like other people in this thread I have a really hard time understanding the people who say that Kessler was overrated... Whats up with the constant attempts to discredit the merrit of both Calzaghe and Kessler? The fight was solid proof of the class of both fighters.[/quote] :good
:nono Calzaghe was cautious of Kessler for all of 1 or 2 rds in total - he pretty much stood in front of Kessler and did everything BUT show caution - round 12 sums up Calzaghe's attitude as far as being cautious is concerned :yep
I wish Kessler all the best in the future, he is a classy guy and an excellent fighter, and will be champ again one day. He fared well against the #1 SMW, and will learn a lot from this loss - I believe you have to experience a loss and come back from it to really prove your mettle, and I have full confidence Kessler will come back stronger. I've been following Kessler since Danny Green almost got him out to Australia to fight him back in 2004, and I intend to continue following him. A competitive loss to Calzaghe is nothing to be ashamed of.
