Kessler not all that

The scene actually rated Kessler as the number 2 greatest Super Middleweight of all-time


In that context he was massively overrated. He had some decent wins against C level opponents and was built up to be a special fighter when he wasnt.

I dont question his heart and desire but he never was elite

 

I'm a bit biased towards Kessler since i met him when he was in Australia to belt Mundine, he was a champion person and loved talking to us fans, he even hinted back then he was having problems with his promoter, he was hanging to crack it in the USA if he beat Mundine but said his promoter wants to go a different way, and as history shows it did **** him over for a couple of years when he was ready to have a go.

 

Now we're just missing Hendo and President, then all the fools will be in board in this stupid thread.

Former 3 time WBC worldchampion and former WBA worldchampion with 2 losses in over 40 fights.losses to Calzaghe and Ward.And in his last fight strippin Carl Froch his WBC belt,when he was undefeated....
I think its a fairly good record.

Well it's a good thing the fight didnt happen or you would have looked like an idiot, oh wait.

 

Kessler is a true champ. Sadly he has been suffering with problems before facing Ward, sadly we know now he wasnt on form when facing Ward only having 4 rounds in 13 months and having eye problems, then being headbutted illegally many times whilst fighting in Jokeland.
Any one who says Kesslers resume is thin. just dosent have a clue, he went 39-0 is a two time WBA champ and a two time WBC champ.
In 11 world championship fights he has fought 5 undefeated fighters, and fought away as champ 4 times, against Mundine, Calzaghe, Haussler and Ward
He has beaten
M Siaca WBA SMW champ
A Mundine 2 time WBA SMW champ (beat him away) won his title again after Kessler beat him
E Lucas former WBC SMW champ
L Andrade (undefeated)
D Sartison WBA regular SMW champ (undefeated) won his title after Kessler beat him
D Haussler (beat him away)
C Froch WBC SMW champ (undefeated)

Hes also beaten other fair opposition in
H Porras
J C Green
D Thobela

Now he is injured and out of action, he has let his title become free for others(a true champ & gentlemen), so will have to return as challenger.

Which current SMW has a better resume than Kessler? Id say he has the best SMW resume followed by Froch

 

You forgot Thobela was former WBC supermiddleweight champ and JC Green was former middleweight champ.

 

I didnt forget, just didnt mention. Figured people commenting on Kessler would know.

He is overrated and clearly. Kessler is a good fighter but he's not this ultimate beast who will walk over the super six as people made him seem. The only people, if you look closely, that overrate him as Calzaghe fans for obvious reasons. I mean if this guy doesn't get some hype who is there to talk about that Calzaghe beat?, no one. So that's an obvious reason why he's overrated, you can also easily notice(in this thread if you wish) the people defending him and still rating him as Muhammad Ali, George Foreman and Frazier all in one package are British fans and you can guess why already.
