    true.

Showtime will say to them "we keep it a Super 6 and replace Kessler, or make it a Semi final. its up to you"

I think they should put Bute straight in. Give him Kesslers points too, straight swap. They need a good replacement, no more Allan Greens.

Would be ideal but Bute's team won't go for it.

They are happy to have him fighting soft touches infront of 20,000 on ppv in Canada.

Mate, is this speculation or mentioned somewhere?

One of my dreams is to watch a fight in MSG and the S6 final would be absolutely awesome.

I think Rob's on the money that it might disband. With the whole shenanigans involving Dirrell v Ward I could see Ward buggering off to HBO with an eventual fight with Bute (same network) being promoted.

It's a shame but there was always a danger. Great idea. But lessons can be learned with the format if it does cave. As previous poster said maybe make it a tournament. Last 8 etc.

By the way since when did Pavlik get such a high ranking with the WBC? Last I read he was gonna stick at middleweight.

Former champs get good rankings when they move up.

    Gutted about this.

its been confirmed that he's had to withdraw, but no talk about retirement.

    Gutted.

Ward vs Dirrel - Semi 1
Abrahms vs Kessler - Semi 2/Vacant WBC belt

Put Green on the semi and final undercards to keep him happy. Though he doesn't deserve either. They should only do it to avoid legal issues.

Kessler should get emeritus status for the Super 6 and WBC.

The 2 semi's would ensure a unification of the WBC and WBA which would establish a lineal champ.

    See, i've solved everything :)

    You and everyone else.

I cant see why Bute wouldnt fancy a fight against Green to get involved in this.

If Kessler gets a guaranteed shot at the winner then Bute will be waiting a while before fighting the big guns.

He should take the Green fight. I'm sure the organisers would give him extra time to prepare. It gets the IBF into the tourny and resolves Green's issues.

They will have to agree to Bute inheriting Kessler's points though. I wouldnt have thought that anyone would argue with that, with maybe the exception of Dirrell. If he does moan then they should make him a fight with one of the losing semi finalists.

Ken Hershamn (Vice President of Showtime Sports)

“We will publicly address how this turn of events affects the tournament in the coming days. I assure you we will make the best of this scenario. In fact, I have been aware of Mikkel’s situation for a few days and I have a vision for how we can proceed that will enhance the excitement of the tournament. First, I must have some internal discussions but mark my words, the drama of the Super Six will be unrelenting and we will crown a champion in the early part of 2011.”
