Kessler pulling out of the Super 6 due to long term injury

Gutted, hope Kessler makes a full recovery. I agree that they should treat the next 2 fights as the semi finals but I cant see Green going along with it.

so here's a possible scenario.

Froch beats Abraham to win the vacant Wbc.
Dirrell beats Ward to progress to the final as Wba champ.

Froch beats dirrell in the final to become the super six world boxing classic champion as well as unified wbc/wba champ. And also clears up what some saw as a controversial win.

Next froch re-matches and beats kessler avenging his only loss and taking care of any loose ends with the wbc.

Finally froch moves up to challenge jean pascal for his collection of belts. Froch is once again victorious over a game pascal.

Froch retires with a truly unbelievable record. The only question mark will be why he never faced andre ward. But Ward wont ever want to fight in England and Froch will believe he will be robbed if he fights Ward in his back yard. froch will also see his two wins over dirrell (who in this scenario beat ward) as justification.

I dont think this is that far fetched.

This is a pain in the ass but this tournament hasn't been a flop. You might have people pulling out, delays, and all that other **** (that you have anyway) but already we've had some nice fights that would not have happened without the super six. It would be nice if the tournament went exactly as planned, with no hiccups, but if it doesn't, **** it cuz we still get some good fights and that's what we want. The best fighting the best.

 

Very, very unlikely to happen. I'm picking Abraham over Froch, maybe even to knock Froch out. If Froch did win, and so did Dirrell, Froch beating Dirrell is still very unlikely. Dirrell already beat him unoficially IMO, but this time would not be naive and leave it so close. The Abraham fight showed that he had learned from the Froch fight. This time it would be a wide unanimous decision. Dirrell is too athletic, too quick for Froch and the fact that Dirrell didn't get the decision is more to do with Dirrell being too cautious and too naive rather than Froch being better.

Kessler..... depends on the eye injury and how long a layoff he has, but he beat Froch clearly already so he'll have to have had a long layoff for Froch to beat him. As for Pascal, he seems to be on the way up whereas Froch will have had many wars by the time this tournament is over. Apart from Green, I think Froch has the least chance of winning the super six now. King Arthur will knock his ass out.

Can anyone tell me why some sources have bute as the #1 recognized fighter for the super middleweight division? Did I miss the memo where Ward and others in the super six forfeited their smw straps and allowed a guy who was afraid to join this tourney to slip into being the baddest MF at 168? Since when do these 'credible' sites care about throwing another name into a #1 slot just because the real fighters are duking it out whilst Bute is in witness protection and he won't even go 7 lbs north to partake in Canada's biggest ever fight? Utterly confused - someone please help me out with this paradox.
