Kessler representative claims Kessler was hampered by damaged hand vs Calzaghe!

    To be fair I have never seen Kessler, he went as far to saying that he had no injury before the fight and after the fight he also said that his training went fine and there was no injury.

    It is the people around Kessler who are trying to build this up or others trying to build up the super 6 saying that Kessler would of beat the best Calzaghe.

    You missunderstand me. I wasn't thrilled by the Joned fight either as I knew he was well passed it. However Joe was after money before retireing. Now what would you choose?

    More money to fight someone who will stand and fight you ----or----

    Less money for someone that will hold, butt, feign injury and basically try everything not to fight you. And to add to that someone that you already hold a victory over.

    I know for a solid gold fact that I would rather fight someone on my level in front of a full house in my backyard and try to punish him, rather than slap around the shot corpse of a once-great fighter while I and everyone around me pretends it is a legitimate fight. A million times over.

    I have the same mentality towards match-making as all of my favourite fighters do. That's why they are my favourite fighters.

    I already stated that I was not best pleased with the JC v RJJ matchup. However I can completely understand why he took that fight due to him feeling he was owed money from not getting fights when fighters didn't want to fight him.

    Lets not forget that Hopkins was offered 3 mil to fight Joe but chose to fight for something like 200,000 instead. These are not figures I'm making up. Warren offered the 3 mil in an open statement back in I believe 03.

    Here lies the divergence of opinion. I believe Joe handpicked a mixture of decent, mediocre and ****ing awful opposition between 1997 and 2006. He could have made enough money in that 9-year snore to not need to kick a corpse for money in 2008 - if he had had more ambition and desire he would have done.

    No offence but I'm not really interested in going any further down this road. You will never change my mind, I will never change yours, we simply have two different points of view. Live and let live is my motto! :lol::good

    Kessler was not as fit as he could and would have been, because he had to stop sparring 14 days before the fight..Kessler is not hitting much in the later rounds.
    look at his condition after 6 round he's all hart in this one.
    never seen it so bad before(and i seen everyone of them)..
    Calzaghes great defence and speed is a key-factor as well as the hand injurie...

    great fight anyway and Calzaghe was a great champ...

    Instead of fighting a wing-shot Jones Calzaghe should have given Kessler a rematch to make a classic rivel-match... but i understand why he didn't
    want to fight Kessler again!
    a shame Kessler belived he could win anyway..

    I love these conspiracy theories.A man with a broken hand that required surgery spends the whole fight loading up the right uppercut ?

    It's fair. Trust me I have exactly the same argument with my second Cousin..... .......wait a sec your names not Domonic is it? lol
    Seriously we've spent hours talking it over. Always opinion never a solution. 1 side is always gonna say he didn't fight the best the other is always gonna say the best didn't want to fight him.

    As long as you respect the fella for his ability then we've got no probs.:deal

    I respect his ability. I think he is often highly overrated, I don't think he was a truly great fighter in terms of ability, but the Kessler win changed my opinion on him. He proved he was a p4p calibre fighter, proved he was the best supermiddleweight of the decade, proved he did indeed have very good ability.
