pretty bold move considering he is fighting in the Uk after a close decision last time, think he will have to KO Froch to win the fight
I suppose his sister could get him a part in one of her porno films if he does retire. Mikkel's not a bad looking lad, I'd watch him penetrate a mule.
If its a close, exciting fight again and Froch gets the nod, it will set up a 3rd fight on neutral ground beautifully, I can't understand the logic when boxers say thing like this, If Kessler gets dominated and is clearly past it, then retire by all means but to to say it before a fight, I just can't work out?
You've gotta like Mikkel - he's a good guy. I totally expect that he will retire, which is probably why he agreed to come over. All those health problems, the operations, etc. He's going to stop, I think, regardless of who wins.
Yeah I thought the same. I bet he as earned millions... I once heard someone say Kessler is the david beckham of Denmark ... Just can't remember who said it
As much as I like Froch, part of me would love to see Kessler to retire on a win, his carer deserves that.
So you think Kessler, who's never looked at serious risk of being stopped, will get stopped by a guy who hasn't shown significant power at world level? Froch is a good puncher, but I don't think he has the speed required to get to Kessler consistently to force a stoppage. I also think we'll see Kessler stepping into close-mid-range and taking away Froch's main weapons.
The only way Froch could stop Kessler is if he just wore him down, and banged him out on a corner after about 15 punches
He did caveat his statement by saying "if I lose fair and square..." That's open to Kessler's interpretation of fair and square. A close points decision or even a premature TKO may not be deemed as fair and square by Kessler.
A technical detail there. That was one of Carl's most painful delusions. Almost as bad as his retrospective claim that the fight with Ward was close.
