Kessler should retire.

What he should have done is hire Montoya quicker.

 

A third fight is huge and an ode to boxing long forgotten. If Ward and Hopkins kick up a fuss then a third Kessler fight will offer legacy but huge entertainment.

Boxing fans are so stupid and think whoever won last is the better fighter. People felt similarly after the first fight. Elite fighters adapt. Marquez Vasquez is the sort of stuff we need to see more of. Barrera Morales, Gatti Ward. Not necessarily that they are wars but competative fights, rivalries, the willingness to fight again.

Outside of a warm up and Froch III then Kessler should retire. I wouldn't want to see a fight like the Green bout not go his way because he's past it and he's lost the desire.

 

Pretty much agree here.His demeanour after Saturdays fight suggested to me that,first,he has no interest in a rubber match and second,that hell not go on much longer.Think what you suggested is likely,a farewell fight in Copenhagen.I think he edged Carl in Denmark,but lost more clearly last time,so maybe he's gone back slightly.As you say,nothing to prove,and a national hero in a small country.Family is popular,plus maybe he can do a Schmeichel.

 

If Froch was abit more accurate and creative with his punches he could of stopped him.

I don't think Carl Froch has a finishers instinct.

He only has 1 gear, and no chance of pace or urgency.

 

its his lack of hand speed that stops him getting KOs
he thows punches from weird angle that have a visable effect on opponents but his follows up dont always land cause people have time to move or react
