i think we can say that kessler has shown he got balls the size of coconuts!
ever since he smashed up manny siaca and became wba champ he has been fighting his mandatories : mundine former wba champ fighting in aussie, eric lucas former wbc champ, marcus Beyer at the time wbc champ, librado andrade top 5 challenger. and now he he goes to wales and takes on calzaghe in his own backyard! all the above were or are top 10 ringmagazine fighters! in my opinion he has been doing everything right so fare but i guess some of the jc nutthuggers see it diffrent?:think

I think this is why he is respected in addition that he seems a very decent and amiable person

Only Mundine was worth mentioning In that list anyway and even he's a bit of a hype job.

his last 6 fights: he has won 2 belts and is now fighting jc for 2 more.
2 times away from home! ****ing awsome!
please agree with me when i say jc hasnt been taking on the same amount of challenge! maybe in all of his fights but not in the short time kessler has. think about what kessler can acomplice if he beats jc and continues this way!

top 10 in the ring mag means nothing. i mean ffs manfredo was top 10 when calzaghe fought him.

did i suggest any of them were? i was just pointing out that you are reading too much into the 'oh but the ring ranked them top 10 in their division so they must be good' theory.

but u disagree he has been taking on the challenge then?
they were his mandatories so what should he have done instead?

Siaca, Lucas and Andrade are similiar to the type of fighters Calzaghe has been criticized for fighting his whole career, Mundine is a very respectable win and the fashion in which he beat Beyer was also VERY impressive. Hes took the hardest fights available to him though, which i respect him for.

decent challenges but nothing amazing, like leedslad said, the sort of challenges joe has taken most of his career.

    Well, I recall in the 70s'...There was Leonard/ Duran/ HAgler/ Hearns/ and the Italian boy...Vito.
Other than them and MAYBE Cuevas, everyone was a bum
I recall also Howard Cossells' trash talk of Quarry, and he practically called him a bum...So it's the same today...Super midds..LAcy ( still very good ) Joe/Kessler/Bute..and now MAYBE Green..the rest are dis-regarded, just like back then...Some things never change:-(

In fact arround the time when the Manfredo - Calzaghe fight was announce suddently Manfredo got into the 10th. spot on The Ring rankings. After he lost to Calzaghe he was out of the top 10 again. Strange really.
