More fantasy. Dawson is a more talented fighter with a comparable resume to Kessler.

Kessler won Mundine's vacated WBA Title(Calzaghe was still the real WBA champ at the time). He did so against a scrub. That trinket that Kessler has around his waist is the very definition of a paper title. He didn't beat any type of champion to get that belt.

 

You count Dawson's performance against Johnson as win. That was a complete robbery, and anyone who isn't blind knows it.

Tarver blows hot & cold & was colder than ice when he fought Dawson. Dawson didn't prove anything against him.

Calzaghe was almost 37 himself when he fought the other 2 veterans, Dawson is considerably younger

Who has Dawson beat other than the two older guys??

Kessler has the better career achievements, more consistent level on his record and has travelled to fight...Dawson has stayed at home fighting C class guys and 2 older boxers

'Stay at home Chad ' has fought Glen Johnson and lost in many peoples eyes....looked good against Tarver (40) and beat Adamek who Dawson fans build up to make his record less weak

Nobody else is worth mentioning at all

 

Kessler has fought most of the top European fighters,
Has also fought away from his country a few times, This guy would kill dawson, Although I don't think dawson is ready because he has never fought in europe and needs to prove himself over here against a top European lhw.

 

Kessler is a good fighter and will unify the super middle weight division. if he was American he would be on the MTV, the disney channel and Jay Leno, and all the Americans would say he was the best fighter ever because they get their info from the media not from watching fights themselves.

 

there's more to it than that.

it's about stepping outside your own comfort zone. going to a foreign country and being away from your own people. it's about fighting in front of a foreign crowd that is going to be against you and seeing if you've got it inside you to come out on top and silence them.

But Kessler has fought Calzaghe, Andrade and Beyer in his last five fights. The fact that you consider them 'bums who nobody knows' says, once again, more about yourself than anything else.

And BigReg should know better than to think Dawson has the same level of names on his record then Kessler.......

 

Woods was given two gifts against Johnson. Sheika and Dawson's wins over Johnson were debateable as well. Johnson beat a younger Jones worse than Calzaghe. He also beat Harding, Griffen, Khalid Jones, Tarver and Ulrich. Johnson is a proven fighter.

Tarver is a tall, lanky, Southpaw, and a great counterpuncher. Kessler leaves that jab out too long, and drops his shoulder too much when he throws that left hook. He's wide open for counters.

 

I already agree that Tarver could beat Kessler....but Johnson is 2-3 years too old to win against the likes of Kessler

But you go on like it's a certainty....which you know deep down it isn't

 

Tarver, Johnson, and Adamek(who's about to fight for the legitimate CW belt) were all top 5 LHWs when Dawson beat them. Harding was top 10 as well. Gardner and Daniels were also solid contenders when Dawson fought them. So Dawson has 4 top 10 guys and two belts on his resume and he's 26. That's definately comparable to Kessler. Oh yeah, "Stay at home Chad" has fought outside of the U.S once. How many times has Kessler left Europe(remember, Europe and the U.S are about the same size.)

 

I continue to disagree.......Kessler fought current or former belt holders....and has travelled to defend and unify his titles in front of full venues

Tarver and Johnson are past it and you know it....Dawson gets less credit for beating those 2 at 26 than Calzaghe does for beating Jones and Hopkins at 36
