I had JC beating Kess by 4 rounds, I had JC beating Bhop by 8 rounds. Kessler looked much better against JC than Bernard "I can only throw 5 punches a round" Hopkins did.

I have little doubt that Kess would also rumble Hopkins' ass.

Joe looked better against Kessler because he is easier to hit than Hopkins. Agianst Kessler Joe was throwing hard shots, against Hops he was trying to land and score points, essentially he beat Nard at his own game.

Credit to Joe for making the adjustment early enough to win the fight.

I agree IB. I believe that even though Hopkins is a bigger name / more well known, that the Kessler win was better and he too would beat Hopkins.

Gimme a ****in break. Not a single time in the Calzaghe/Kessler fight did Joe even have to break a sweat. You are a ****in liar if you are saying not once in this fight were you worried as a Calzaghe fan. Bernard was makin Joe look foolish. Knocked him on his ass in the very first round.

This was easily Joe's biggest test to date

Oh the irony ... and the hypocrisy too while I'm at it.

Never has there been worse losers and winners in world sports than Americans. I'm amazed you cannot see this yourself.

He did no ****ing better than Bika. In fact I'd even pick Bika over this version of Hopkins. So many Americans romanticise about certain fighters like Hopkins, the reality stacks up so differently to their perceptions though. I would take Kessler and Bika over Hopkins.

By round 4 of the Kessler fight, Joe knew he had him. He was coasting the rest of the fight.. tonight however, Joe was shittin bricks until the final judge's scorecard was read..

You Calzage fans are pieces of **** for your blatant lies. You know damn well BHop gave Joe a better fight than Kessler

I call fights the way I see them. Calzaghe looked horrible and Hopkins looked impressive. Plain and simple.. Calzaghe won the fight purely off of pressure and his **** flurries, both of which were equally unimpressive... which is why I have trouble giving this fight to Calzaghe but I do give it to him by a not so wide margin.

What's 43yo BHop's real world class quality? What, besides his typical spoiling (which Joe had already said he was anticipating, and acknowledged might bother him some), gave Joe as much trouble as Kessler's determined and varied offensive assault (which clearly surprised Calzaghe)?

    Romanticize?

If we're going to talk about romanticism let's not forget to mention those who felt Calzaghe was either so good or Hopkins was so shot that Calzaghe was not only going to shut Hopkins out but stop him as well. :rofl

Yeah.. hypocrisy at it's finest indeed.

And as far as Bika is concerned I'm sure even Bika could command more respect out of 'Nard than those **** shots from Calzaghe that make Sven ****ing Ottke look like Nigel Benn.

Hopkins was the harder fight for Joe hands down, ask Enzo and Joe who was the tougher fight, I would lay a 100 down he says Hopkins. Closer fight and physically more grueling, Hopkins was in the fight the whole time, the same cant be said for Kessler, who seemed down for in the end and almost got put down by a body shot, Hopkins was never really caught clean, Taylor caught him with cleaner punches in there first fight.

Enzo was gettin into Joe's ass. :rofl

He never even raised his voice in the Kessler fight. That right there tells the whole story about which fight was more competitive

lol, why don't you sit down and drink a nice warm mug of STFU.

When asked after the fight, Calzaghe said that Hopkins provided one of his toughest fights. NOT the toughest, that distinctive honor goes to one Chris Eubank who Calzaghe has maintained from day one as the man who gave him his toughest fight ever. Hopkins got beaten very easily tonight by about 10 rounds to 2 and that just burns your bitter yank ass to the bone.

Tougher, as in he expended greater physical effort due to the physicality of the fight against a larger guy given to rough-housing? Yes.

Tougher, as in stylistically a greater challenge and more difficult puzzle to solve? No.
