Such leaps of logic are not ones this thread's originator is prepared to make.

If Kesslr was the harder fight, how come Calzaghe found the time to show boat against Kessler but not Hopkins.

There's a thin line between showboating and attempted butt piracy. :nono

Point is, scoring a figth is subjective, but we go by an objective measure.

I don't recall an outcry against either decision, either.

b-hop was running, trying to counterpunch he´s way to a victory....mikkel kessler was trying to FIGHT joe...it´s 2 different fights.
AND joe said after the fight with kessler, that he was hurt a few times in the earlier rounds by some uppercuts.
AXE i dont think you have ever seen the fight kessler vs joe.

well one thing is for sure - Calzaghe-Kessler was a much better fight to watch than the Hopkins-Calzaghe-dance. Hopkins is crap to watch - I'll nearly rather watch Ruiz!

I'll give Hopkins that it is very impressive to be that competetive at his age - but that's about it. He does little but spoil and tricks. I've given him round 1, 2 and 10 - the rest was clearly Calzaghe rounds. Hopkins finished a few rounds well - that might have given him some rounds with some - but if you actually watch and score the whole three minutes, then he can be given no more than 3 rounds + the knockdown =116-111 Calzaghe.

I thought the Hopkins fight was much harder for Joe. Calzaghe was always gonna beat Kessler, its just a good style for him. With hopkins Joe was confused cos the guy was so damm dirty he couldnt get his rythm going, and I think Hopkins lost alot of gas later in the rounds when his age shown through. I was rooting heavily for Calzaghe but I thought this was a hard earned victory.

One judge thought Hopkins won. Tells you how reliable hometown US judging can be.

No conclusions about Kessler can be drawn from last night.
