Dawson the most feared american fighter in the world.....

    run kessler, run

but seriously, it's a good decision by his people, because chad would beat him most defiantly, but it would be a hell of a fight, but....

if Kessler fights, Andrade, Bute, Bika,......Froch? or Inkin

and he manages to beat them all

and Dawson fights, Hop, uhhh.....who else is left in that division, Diaconu, is that it?

    and he beats them all

a fight between the undispitued SMW champ vs. the Undispituted LHW champ would be a monster superfight

i'd love to see that, so yeah i kind of agree.....this fight deserves a bigger stage then just LHW champ Dawson vs. SMW champ Kessler, because neither are really boxing superstars yet, but both of them clearly have the potential to be the future of the sport P4P

Sounds good but its bull...Dawson is tall but skinny, he doesnt have a hard time making in weight in fact he has said that he could make 168 easy and has fought as low as 160 and fought at 168 less then two years ago and has only come in at the lt heavyweight limit TWICE. Coming into fights at 172, 173 isnt a sign of a fighter that is having a hard time making weight..

Its just an excuses, it would be more respectful if they said they was just going another way. Only diehard Kessler fans are going to buy this crap.

This is disappointing. I think Kessler could do very well against Dawson, who is certainly not a cruiserweight. If anything he is a super middleweight who prefers to fight at his natural body weight, unlike Calzaghe, Kessler, Bute, etc.

although i reckon kessler would beat dawson,i think he needs to beat bute etc and clean up smw before stepping up to lhw,and by then hopkins and calz will be long gone and he will dominate that division too.

IMO kessler´s management should try to make a fight against the winner of froch-pascal.
    or the winner of lacy-taylor..
Kessler should not move up now... if/when he collect all the belts at 168,THEN he could think about moving up.
hate kessler all you want, the next couple of years he will be the SMW king.
i don´t think palle is the best manager in the world.
But in this case i think kessler is making the right dicicion..
unify the belts at 168,and then maybe move up.

I wish MK would get away from Palle et al (if possible). His inactivity, for whatever reason, since Calzaghe has been worrying.

I ain't one to shout about the benefits of fighters basing themselves in the US but in his case it may be a wise move?

Well, being that he wants to keep a name for himself, its only obvious he'll try to fight Froch next.

    LMAO. How's it "obvious"?

He could fight Bute, Taylor, Inkin, Froch, Abraham, Sturm, Wright, Dawson, or Johnson and "keep" a name for himself"....Jesus you have dumb comments.

    Weak as hell.

I think Kessler would take Dawson in a bout, but now we don't get to find out. Sorry, you have to call them like you see them and now it's looking like this:

    Dawson : Kessler
    Diaconu : Dawson
    Margarito : Floyd

Only problem is, the last two guys on the right at least have some claim to being on board with taking on the man they later shamelessly ducked/dropped a belt to avoid. Mikkel can't say that, at least not right now.

Kessler should switch his management and take this fight.

    EXTREMELY disappointing.

Fighters and promoters turn fights down all the time. They usually hide behind rhetoric is the difference. Dawson dropped his title for Diaconu, for instance. Helping him avoid a Glen Johnson rematch. Heck, Cloud is Dawson's mandatory but we are led to believe he will avoid the mandatory.

They're both as good as each other. But Dawson is all wrong for Kessler. It would be a dumb move to go up in weight and fight a fast, agile southpaw. Boxing's about risk vs reward and Dawson doesn't guarantee great profile or money.

Let's say Kessler went up and beat him. Still the critics and experts would say that Calzaghe is the real champ.

There's loads of good fights for Kessler at super middle. Hopefully both guys become outstanding champs in their divisions and one day it's big enough to make.

If Kessler can win another super middle title (maybe WBC), he'll be the man that the young guns (Ward, Dirrell), the oversized middles (Taylor, Pavlik, Abraham), the tough fringe guys/top contenders (Bika, Zuniga) want to fight.
