Kessler is quickly becoming a joke around here. I said this earlier about him people really need to start to question his mental toughness this guy simply doesn't have it since the Calzaghe loss.

Kessler doesn't want to risk another 'L' is basically what they're saying. Dawson is a skinny, lanky 175 lber. Kessler is a big, big 168 lber. Together it would be a good fight between two young champions, it's too bad really.

 

You might be on to something here.

 

Mogens Palle needs to get over himself. Kessler's already cleaned out the big names in Europe, and for him to get more big fights, either he'll need to move up, or other guys will need to move up. I doubt that either Abraham or Beyer will move up to fight him for the same reason he won't fight Dawson. But Palle is seriously fooling himself if he thinks he'll get a Hopkins fight or a Calzaghe rematch. The only big name left for Kessler to fight is Jermaine Taylor. Maybe Bute becomes a decent name in the interim and he can make that fight, but other than those two, all that's left are second and third-tier fighters who aren't in his class and who aren't huge draws, like Jeff Lacy, Sakio Bika, Edison Miranda, Carl Froch, Denis Inkin, etc. Sure, it'll make a nice resume if he goes out and beats all those guys, but he won't earn the big bucks that way.

However, what's this about Kessler never fighting a live body? Sure, his last two fights have been gimme fights, but before that he had fought Calzaghe-Andrade-Lucas-Beyer-Mundine-Siaca. That's 5 titleholders + Andrade. That's about as tough of a run of fights as anyone's fought in the history of the super middleweight division.

 

So....Kessler could have had fights with Miranda and now Dawson.

Instead he fights Stratson(?) and Hausler.

What good fights has he got? that would prove a more worthy challenge than Chad Dawson? Who has Kessler beat? Dawson has won two belts same as Kessler in a higher weight division.
