Here's the thing. You're only a noob on ESB. Kessler's promoter, meanwhile, says it's not fine. He is not seeking a fight with Dawson at 168, he simply does not want kessler to fight him period. That''s the difference.
If he comes to 168, then I don't see the problem. Then he is in Kessler's way and of ofcourse they will fight. Right now the talks were for a fight at a higher weight than 168. But yeah, sure if Dawson comes to 168 that will be great. Then there will be even more action at 168. Abraham is also coming to 168. Ward, Direll looking good. Lacy/Taylor has a big clash coming up. Dawson is more than welcome and Palle's only problem is the weight difference. There is no problem with Dawson as such. Kessler has said he has no problems fighting anyone at 168, he just doesn't want to go up in weight and give another fighter a huge weight advantage unless that fighter is a legend.
Looks like the Eurobums are taking over: Heavy: Klitschko (take your pick) Cruiser: Haye Lt hvy: Calzaghe SMW: Kessler Middle: Abraham You have to go down to 154 to find a spot where they don't rule. :deal
have you heard yourselves ? we'll see what happens . two young fighters, two different weights, whats the rush ? you really tiink kesslers promoters saying they are scared of fighting dawson ? if i know anything its that esb's forum usually get it completely wrong, so expect dawson v kessler very soon
Dude, I'm not sleeping on Jermain. He has some haters (none more than this Aks guy) but he is one of the most proven fighters out there today. He has been in a number of big fights and just because Pavlik has his number doesnt mean that Pavlik is better. I favor Taylor to beat Kessler.
Dawson is a small light heavy he can make smw if he wanted, I think Kessler should have taken this fight the Calzaghe rematch looks unlikey Hopkins is a big risk so the Dawson fight makes sense the winner would be the future at 168/175.
No, but apparently Dawson was one of the names HBO popped up when talking to Palle. Palle said they will fight whomever at 168, but will not give up a huge weight advantage to someone who is no.3 and unknown outside of the US. And then the discussion started whether Kessler and Dawson should clean out their divisions first and then meet in a mega fight, or whether they should rather meet now in a medium fight and then clean out their divisions. The answer really is pretty obvious.
Which is why every division above supermiddle is so boring. You got a bunch of Eurobums who wont fight anyone lol. The Klitsckos wont unify, Haye ran from Cunningham at lightheavy, Calzaghe has been cherry picking his whole career and wont fight Hopkins or Dawson. Kessler is the definition of cherry picking one dimensional mechanical eurobum. Taylor, Dawson or PAvlik will finish him off sooner or later. But much respect for Abraham. He's a true warrior. Cant wait for him and Pavlik to have their war.
taylor proving champ? the winky wright fight wasnt a gift?? i was for winky and alot others was too! fought ouma who lost twice at 154 since then and spinks who lost to phillips at 154 after the hopkins fight. and the ouma and spinks fight wasnt a great performance agaisnt smaller men. and he has 1 lost at super middle weight against his conquer at middle weight pavlik. hes no more provin if any. lets see what he might be able to do in supermiddle but to me if lacy fights like he has been (mandoza fight a terible comeback fight)taylor wont be proving much. dawson number 3? number 3 behind who?? calz and hopkins
He is far far far far more proven than Dawson. Thats for sure. Taylor beat Hopkins - can Dawson? Dawson had to have a gift to get by old Johnson. Cannot compare these two now. Let Dawson try to make his mark then we will see.
I mised this **** about Pav and Adamek. :rofl pavlik actually went up 2 divisions and fought the #2 there. Adamek is challenging Steve Cunningham, the Chad Dawson of the 200lbs weight class--25 lbs above his natural weight--in 3 weeks time. Needless to say, both have shown far more balls than Kessler, and their fights are more of a challenge than Kessler taking on Dawson, weight-wise.
I think it's a pretty good matchup. If Glen Johnson can give Dawson all he can handle, I gotta think Kessler won't get run over. I actually kinda' like Kessler for this one based on pressure, workrate and durability (though not by much). At any rate , seems like it would be a big event. This is the second time Kessler has avoided (apparently) a big event. What gives? :huh
