Who do you think would win in a catchweight fight assuming Adamek can still make cruiser and kessler i take it can easily make 175.
175 is light heavy, not cruiser if I'm understanding your post. I don't think Adamek can make CW anymore, but if he could he would KO him for sure.
Yeah, I'm not clear on whether RedDragonBoxing got confused abuot the limits for each division, or if he was implying that Adamek weighing in at 200 and Kessler somewhere between 175-200 would constitute a "catchweight" fight. In any event, this is a terrible idea for Kessler. It's be like looking in the mirror at a supersized version of himself. A right hand specialist who is arguably his equal but much bigger and stronger? Yikes. I do think Mikkel is probably more skilled p4p but not enough to compensate - they're just too far apart. Also, the risk/reward for Adamek makes no sense - it's the exact opposite of the path he's taken at HW.
Haha soz not clear on catch weights but i meant if adamek can slim back down to crusier and kessler gets up to 175 then they can fight somewhere between 175-185 i dunno. just seems an interesting matchup for me especially if kessler can redeem himself by winning the super six
What does he need to add to his game to wake you up? Pretty ballerina pirouettes to slip opponent's jabs, transitioning into a bolo counterpunch off his toes?
Can see how you think that and thats why i started this thread but even though adameks bigger i genuinely think kessler can bring some power up in weight and bother adamek, adding to the fact that kessler has never been hurt or been put down and only gets bothered by fighters like Calzaghe + Ward who are fast with their hands and have awkward styles. Even when kessler had been cut and butted by ward he refused to give up. Guys got too much pride than sense and thats why i see him winning a close UD.
If they fight around 200, Adamek wins without doubt, possible KO. If they fight about 175, then Kessler on pionts. Adamek is my fighter, so I vote on him
Not saying Kessler is a ***** on anything, he is one of my favourite fighters. But i think Adamek is underated by alot of people who just think he is a come forward, defencesless fighter. I think whilst Kessler has the better jab and straight right, Adameks size and pressure would negate Kesslers distance. I can see the fight being competitive until the later rounds when Kessler would start to slow whilst Adamek would still be punching hard and coming on strong. Just my view though:good
So my vote (Adamek on points) shouldnt be counted Right now if Adamek makes 175, he is done. 2005 version of Adamek would win imo.
