Dawson by UD. The robotic and predictable Kessler would be nothing more than a big target for Dawson to unleash his offensive arsenal on.
People that don't know how to analysis match ups that's how. Dawson holds the clear advantage in this fight and it's easy to see.
Dawson UD..It's a tough on to call though. I'm leaning towards Dawson because he seems to be the better all-rounder as opposed to kessler's one dimensional style.
Yes. I voted Dawson because I assumed it would be at 175 because Dawson probably cannot possibly make 168. He seems like a big lhw and would never make smw.
Tough one to call... both are borderline P4P fighters, a fight between them would be very nice. Maybe Kessler on points due to Dawson's stamina issues but man he fough back with a big heart vs. Johnson! And probably became better in the process, I was very impressed despite I scored the fight for Glen, but it was really close and Mr. Johnson gave everything... Kessler is less active but far more accurate, powerful and better defensive than Glen and also quicker, so let's say Kessler by close UD. Division doesn't matter, Kessler is really huge for 168, he'd be probably better without dehydration and Dawson adapted to 175 very well... Really good fight! I'd definitely like to see it!
Huge Kessler fan but i can't pick him over Dawson at 175. I do believe he can make some serious noise in that division. Would be a fantastic fight but i reckon 8-4 Dawson UD
Interesting one, Dawson's probably slightly faster of foot and hand and has nice boxing skills, Kessler is no slouch however and those quick, accurate straight punches will certainly find their target, as Dawson showed us an old Glen Johnson could land almost at will with big wide looping shots... lets not get carried away by Dawson, he's no longer undefeated in a lot of people's eyes and I'd see this fight panning out in his favour for the most part, before having those shakey whiskers tested and kissing the canvas. Kessler by KO after being behind on the cards. Dawson cant take a good shot and is obvious when hurt, in the sense he cant hide it. Kessler would jump all over him at this stage and close the show. easy to hit as shown by Johnson winging wide looping shots
You say Dawson is easy to hit but what about Kessler? He stands in front of you striaght up and down no special effects. Atleast Chad offers movement and shows angles Kessler shows none of that.
Kessler may not offer much in the way of movement, but he keeps a typically high stiff european upright guard and works primarily off the jab with the right held high to block incoming shots, or to throw a straight off the jab. He's no Mayweather or James Toney thats for sure, but to me Dawson looked like **** against Glen, who really should at this stage of his career be classed as a journeyman, but due to the level of competition he'd still a legit threat to everyone in the division. Kessler hits a lot harder and faster than Johnson, I just dont think Dawson's chin will hold up for 12 rounds. Dont get me wrong, both guys will land their shots, I see Dawson doing the better more eye catching work for the most part, but he'll start to tire, he'll be getting worn down by shots he cant take for 12 rounds even if he's not gassed out. I simply see Kessler stopping this one around the championship rounds.
Well...fact is that Kessler is one of a handful of people (and could be number one) to be hit th least in boxing of any division. He has never ever (except for the Calzaghe fight) lost a single round on all cards. Listen to what his opponents say after meeting him - that he is fast and impossible to hit. There is for example an interview with Andrade where he says that he was surprised how fast Kessler was. Kessler has very good footwork. You need to go look at a few Kessler fights.
Dawson by stoppage ... Kessler was almost stopped by Calzaghe off a bodyshot. Dawson is good at switching angles ... he's good at turning his opponents, putting himself in better position to counter his opponent. He's very fast ... and he's strong. Kessler is a stand up fighter who comes forward in straight lines and backs up in straight lines. Kessler's a damn good boxer ... and will makes it a good fight ...
