Based on the fact this fight is in Copenhagen and not Nottingham (which Hennessey is trying stage fight at) Who wins and how. For me it'll be Kessler by wide UD. Thoughts...
Kessler by UD. Unlike Andrade, Froch likes to keep it at mid-range and then try to steam in. This is perfect for Kessler, who prefers not to be smothered and fire off one-twos (Beyer) or quick combos (Sartison) to take his opponents out. Froch will be at perfect range from where he sets himself. Kessler will stop him, probably around the 8th or 9th round. Would love Froch to do it but I feel Abraham-Kessler will be the final, and have for some time. I see no way Froch beats Abraham other than it being over here, him getting points for keeping it mid-range and hitting Abrahams gloves (not slagging Frochy off but it's hard for anyone to get past that defence) and staying out of trouble. If he gets in close and tries to mix it up he'll get stopped, and I'm close to certain that Froch doesn't have the punches to put Abraham away. If Froch is going to beat Abraham he's going to have to fight boring. Personally I feel after the Kessler fight he will be slim pickings for Abraham. BUT FAIR PLAY TO THE COBRA FOR TAKING ON THESE CHALLENGES :good
Exactly my breakdown mate. Couldnt agree more, I believe kessler may stop him with a methodical 1-2, Kessler isnt sloppy and has a tight defence he is also very effective in holding the centre of the ring, I fancy a ko but if money is at stake i go with points...
Froch has a punchers chance as Kessler is not exactly Willie Pep, but more than likely he gets picked off all night by MKs left-rights and stopped late.
Yeah I see it roughly the same as most. Froch can take a few of Kessler's big punches, and Kessler can take a few of Froch's bombs. Difference is Kessler will land more, and probably take Froch out at some point after the 6th round through accumulation. I can see Froch having a couple of moments, but not enough to off-set Kessler's methodical beatdown.
style wise it's gonna be easier for froch to land something clean on kessler than probably any of the other fights, but kessler is just so damn good at everything he does that i just cant see froch having anything other than a punchers chance. and even then, kessler has shown himself to have a pretty good set of whiskers. we need to start seeing the froch of the pascal fight for him to stand any chance in this tournament.
My initial thought is Kessler wins by ko for some reason, so I'll go with that. I know Froch's chin is reportedly good, but he was put down by Taylor and wobbled against Dirrell. I think the preciseness of Kessler's clinical punching may well take it's toll. Still, I want the Cobra to win his one, so will be supporting him in this, and certainly don't discount his chances entirely. Looking forward to this fight : )
Kessler will KO him if he gets into an early lead and Carl gets desperate, like Andrade. The harder he tries the more likely he'll get KO'd. Which is quite likely with Carl because he has a lot of heart and won't settle for being outboxed.
Kessler boxes circles around Froch and maybe making Froch hit canvas least once or twice. About 9-3 for Kessler no doubt. And yes im being a bit generous giving Froch 3. Abraham would TKO Froch around the 10th.
froch will stop abraham as well,he ****ing hates being hit in the body, the guys more overated than froch is on here:hey
