He called out the bigger guy and the bigger guy bottled it. Ward could have won a ton of respect by whooping Golovkin who looked invincible at the time but instead his balls shrivelled up. His last fight was Kovalev. What if instead of retiring he made an effort to safely lose the weight for a last fight at 168, the weight he'd fought at for his whole life? GGG never made any "I can't go up and then drop down again" excuses.
To quote Serge 'It's not only absolutely ridiculous notion that A-side GGG who sells more tickets than Dre does in his own home state ''ducked'' that clown and his fake ''offer'' which, as you say, they sent after they had already announced the Lemieux fight with the winner of Clenelo vs Melon Head Miguel fight on deck which Dre knew, but he wanted GGG to fight him in his country, with his obligatory home ref and judges, and for his first fight at the weight, something Dre would never have agreed to a fraction of had the shoe been on the other foot and history confirms that resoundingly. He wouldn't go anywhere near Kovalev or Adonis, the later of who he ducked, until he'd had ''three fights to settle into the weight'' or a whole year, let alone fought them in their countries or with even one home official and everyone knows it and everyone also knows if GGG did fight him they would've robbed him like they robbed Kovalev Timestamped This content is protected Tom Loeffler called Dre out to provide the email he sent him but he never did or ever will do because he knows he's lying through his teeth This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
''He's begging (Miguel) Cotto and he's begging Canelo (Alvarez) smaller guys to fight, and they're saying there's no money in it, and they are smaller guys.'' ---Andre Ward The irony
I personally agree Canelo should have stopped Golovkin in the 3rd fight. Perhaps he is now past his best?
He's been well past his best for a long time, now he's borderline shot and it takes him a lifetime to get going
GGG has never been wobbled much less KO'd. I agree he is way past his prime, and if he continues may get KO'd, but not at this time.
What Ward said: "I thought he should have stopped that version of Golovkin." What Ward meant: I thought he should have attacked more to the scrotum.
