    According to the European Boxing
    Union, EBU super middleweight
champ James DeGale (11-1, 8KOs) will
make a mandatory defense of his
title against Italian veteran and former
    WBC king Cristian Sanavia (45-5-1,
13KOs) on April 21 in Denmark.
There is a well circlulated rumor that
    DeGale-Sanavia will move forward as
the co-headliner to a possible main
    event between Mikkel Kesler (44-2,
    23KOs) and WBA interim-super
    middleweight ruler Brian Magee
    (36-4-1, 25KOs), who recently knocked
    out Kessler's countryman Rudy
    Markussen at Brindby Hallen.
But there is a problem with that
rumor, Kessler is scheduled to face
    WBO champion Robert Stieglitz
    on April 14 - a fight that's been
    finalized since late 2011. However,
    there are rumors from various
sources that this fight won´t happen.
"I have seen it, you have seen it, we
are not the listed promoters [of
    DeGale-Sanavia] and I can't tell you
    anything," said Sauerland Event's CEO
Chris Meyer with a big smile.

    Scene It.

There were rumors that Abraham will face Stieglitz, but I think is better if Kessler-Stieglitz happen. The WBO belt needs to be in better hands that could unify later against guys from the top of the division like Bute, Ward, and who knows maybe Froch would get a belt from Bute or the WBC, where he ranks high.

Food for thoughts, If Froch-Bute do happen for the IBF, who will be in line for the vacant WBC to face Anthony Dirrell ?

Never read that. Kessler would probably pull out of the Stieglitz fight in two conditions:
    - If he face Ward next for a megapayday and retribution in a fight for WBA/WBC.
    - If he will be granted a fight against Anthony Dirrell for the WBC.

In those two cases Abraham would normally would take his place in fighting Stieglitz for the WBO.

Note: WBC is not vacant yet, Ward probably will still hold it for at least 1 more fight.

  8. In respect of the alphabets, Kessler will get the fight he wants.

It's just a question of the opponent being willing.

it still makes no sense to me that an Italian promoter would bid so high for a fight and then put it in Denmark.

Yeah thats what i thought as well. Unless they are allowing the Italians to co-promote it, with a few of their fighters on the undercard?

Either way, it'll be good for Degale to get out again. He'll knock Sanvia out

    News from other place...

According to sources in Italy, EBU super middleweight champion James DeGale will indeed defend his title in Denmark, against Italian mandatory challenger Cristian Sanavia. Sources in Italy state the location is a done deal.

However, while Round Zero of Italy won the purse bids, the promoter of the fight will be Sauerland Event.

As BoxingBEEN.com previously reported, the date of the fight is April 21 - at least according to the European Boxing Union - but that has yet to be confirmed.

Kalle Sauerland confirmed to Danish sources that Mikkel Kessler, as planned, will take on WBO super middleweight champ Robert Stieglitz on April 14 - which kills the rumor of Kessler facing Brian Magee for the WBA's interim-title with Sanavia-DeGale as the co-feature.James DeGale - according to Italian sources - could be on his way to being signed to a promotional deal with Sauerland.
