Kessler v Miranda is a good indication of how Kessler would fare vs Pavlik / Taylor

  1. Kessler has really been pissing me off as late what with his no news stance and the fact that in losing to Joe he gained massive respect from everyone except staunch Joe haters who call him a fruad (as if!!!) but has seemingly not capitalized upon it :-( ....until now! I feel so much better now I hear he's almost signed with Miranda - props to the man I say and about time!

Now I don't for one minute doubt Kessler will win. I know Pantera has a pretty loyal following here so I'm not going to bash him but if Kessler does the business on him as I expect it will give us all a great indication of how well he'd fare vs Pavlik - a man who crushed Miranda with impunity and more importantly could setup a superfight with Taylor - who as you know was also beaten by Pavlik but now sits in SMW.

I believe Kessler would do a number on both these men. Kessler v Pavlik would be interesting but beacuse he has Pavlik's power coupled with greater speed and technique he'd win I'd bet.

I also believe a fight with Taylor would be a walkover though for Kessler because he's every bit as strong - if not more - than pavlik but quicker with more technique as I said above. In fact I think he'd crucify Taylor.

Bottom line: Miranda v Kessler needs to happen as it will give us all a chance to analyze Kessler's true skills and his place in the grander scheme of things against these two great fighters because these fighters are linked heavily together.

Where'd you read that they'd almost finalized a deal with Miranda? I thought that fight was rejected.

Miranda will fair better against Kessler than he did against Pavlik. Kessler will not throw caution to the wind and attack like Pavlk did. In addition Kessler does not have Pavlik's work-rate. However, I do believe that Miranda has only a punchers chance at best against Kessler. Against Pavlik Miranda took a beating. Against Kessler he gets a boxing lesson.

Well Mogens Palle was on Danish TV the other day - sounded as it was almost a done deal and down the where and when.

Miranda is the perfect (although also dangerous) opponent for Kessler. Miranda has a punchers chance versus Kessler, but a decent one of those due to his power. But that said I exspect Kessler to win by a wide UD or (T)KO. But a well known opponent to (hopefully) look good against on his US-debut (not counting his undercard fight back in 2000)

Just hope they make the fight soon!

HMM that is interesting. Well not really because it makes no sence. Miranda was dominated by Pavlik, so im not sure how that would tell you anything. Unless Miranda beats Kessler then that will tell us that Kessler sucks and put a huge black cloud over Cazalghe biggest win.:hi:

Decent analysis. If Kessler doesn't attack Miranda he could get his block knocked off. The best way to deal with Miranda is to keep him backing up.

Kessler looked extremely rattled against Calzaghe and didn't really attack until it was too late. If he doesn't come in with the right mental makeup he could have problems with Miranda.

I don't know where people get this higher workrate from - Pavlik threw 845 (landing 32%) against Taylor II - Kessler threw 856 (landing 41%) against Andrade. Pavlik might have a little higher workrate in general, but Kessler will more than compensate for that with a higher hit%.

Miranda will have Kessler jab in his face all evening. Kessler landed 47% of his powershots on Calzaghe - imagine what he'll land on Miranda...

I think you seriously overestimate Kessler while seriously underestimating Pavlik and Taylor.

"extremely rattled" - harsh judgement in a fight where he needed to take two round to take a tie. A fight where Kessler landed 47% (121) of his powershots on Calzaghe (Calzaghe landed 148 - 32%) - that's roughly the same as Pavlik landed on Taylor (II) (Pavlik landed 123).

And Miranda is no Calzaghe - not by a long shot. Miranda is more of a Andrade than he is a Calzaghe - and Kessler had no problems dealing with Andrade's 12 rounds of constant pressure...

Comparing Andrade to Taylor??? Kessler didnt have anything eles to do but throw punches cuz Andrade damn sure wasnt. On the other hand Taylor was fighting back, and not just with his face:lol: .

Not a good point to make your argument with.
