Kessler v. Miranda: what is the latest news?? Anyone??

I still wonder why the Kessler-Miranda fight fell through. Kessler wasn't afraid of facing Calzaghe or Mundine on foreign soil, so I cannot believe he should be afraid of facing Miranda. In fact, Kessler said on his own web that he was expecting to face Miranda next. I take it it's because a bigger fight showed up - maybe against Bute?

 

Kessler is going after the newly vacant WBA LHW title. He will fight
against Hugo Garay. There RJJ will become the mandatory challenger.
So Kessler-RJJ this Fall and ultimately an unification title bout between Calzaghe and Kessler.

 

Kesslers cynical management strikes again. Cripes.
Palle's obviously spent too much time with Frank Warren.
Both guys should be removed from the HOF ASAP.

Miranda should start calling out Roy Jones. That would be an interesting fight between to trash-talkers.

 

Kessler also seems to have many problems now making weight at 168, he's got a large built and probably will go to 175 for good....

Team Palle is trying to land a World Title fight for Kessler, putting the Miranda fight on hold.

 

According to Palle Kessler isn't moving up - it looks like Palle is trying to force Mundine in the ring - mayby Teke will get the opputunity for a few avatarbets afterall

So it looks like Kessler going for his old belt instead of an interesting fight with Miranda.

It's fair enough I asume - but only if the fight can be made - I would must rather have seen Kessler-Miranda than Kessler-Mundine II - same result thou - Kessler on KO

 

I think you are right! But what can the reason be? I thought exposure to a US audience had higher priority than a belt. Perhaps this is a case of Palle getting more control as compared to dealing with a US based promotor?

 

Well it could also just be Palle seeing a possibily to **** of a TV-network and just couldn't help himself

Palle has a record of persuing one fight - Søndergaard-Hoya - RJJ-Larsen - Nielsen-Tyson and so on - once in awhile he succeds, but mostly he doesn't and the fighter gets stuck fighting nobodies...

Don't surprised if we don't see Kessler in the ring before late 2008...

 

Interesting the number 1 contender for the WBA SMW strap is not rated with Kessler at 2.

Last time I looked it was Brahmer I think who has now moved to LHW.

 

He just had to **** off a TV network after being screwed left and right by the danish TV channels time and again.
