Problem is that Mundine has to be forced to face Kessler - the only one to do that is WBA - and WBA and Palle isn't good friends ... Mundine and WBA are. So by the time WBA forces Mundine it will be january 2009...

Yeah and Mundines plan to defend his title against top 25 to 50 guys a few more times then move to LHW and smash Green for his title has gone out the door with Green calling it quits.

What is the chance of Green making a return to the ring at the end of the year VS Mundine at SMW?

A shame that the fight is off.. Was looking forward to it..
Heard on Danish Radio that the fight is off, due to Palle wanting a title fight for Kessler in May/June.
Sadly, noone gives a crap about the belts.
Miranda was just what the doctor ordered for Kessler. Easy win, great opportunity to shine on US TV and a decent payday, coming off a loss.
    Who cares about Mundine II??

But to call Kessler scared... well.. that's just silly.

Good point by the coz o' toys. I wouldn't be surprised either, if Kessler is gone from the ring until 2009.æ By that time, his star will have faded so much that US networks don't care anymore and Kessler is stuck with the Søren Søndergaard end of the deal: To fight nobodies and c+ level fighters at home, until he's too old or too lacking in motivation to do it right - after which he'll retire as another Mogens Palle failure.
    Damn shame.

But hey... Kessler has a responsability in this as well. Were he to enforce his will, we would have Miranda next.

Perhaps there are things at play which we know nothing about. Perhaps the next fight is a great one in America and with HBO and all that... But until that becomes clear, I will say this: I don't understand Team Palle in this decision.

I don't either, but I can offer an explanation. Team Palle wants to play it safe. They run a business. They don't want to take risks to become "stinking" rich, don't want to risk loosing it all. A healthy day to day attitude IMO but it hampers any attempts at making it real big. Kessler might go all the way anyway and become great, but the road alongside Palle is just that much longer, unless luck strikes as it has earlier on in his carreer.

Tem Palle should **** off and let their main man go somewhere where he will get a decent management.

I would love to see Kessler beat Miranda (would be a great fight), but apparently his management has other plans.
According to danish news Palle never signed the contract as it wasn't as agreed with Miranda camp - I doubt this however.
Kessler shouldn't even think about abc belts - instead he should concentrate on fighting fighters such as Miranda. He could be a big hit in the US if he fought someone who has a name over there, and Mundine is just not a big enough name for that. Plus he has a "rockstar aura" over him which could help him to bigger fights after Miranda.
I not sure calling this off is such a good idea. Lets hope someone with a name are lined up.
