    Awesome.

I don't understand how Kessler's response to punches coming at him is always to back straight up or lean back...NEITHER of those things are beneficial and it really kept Kessler from being able to get off his punches.

Ward's jab while moving back is very nice.

Everytime he got hit he would back straight up! He wern't moving to left or right atall, through-out the whole fight.

outright schooling. pretty amazing display by ward last night. gotta give him credit, he really whooped on the guy most everyone was picking to win this tourney and made it look like nothing.

IMO that's a sign of a couple things...either Kessler needs to spar more before matches or he needs to warm up better before the fight.

Backing straight up and leaning back like that are the actions of a "flinchy" fighter, and you just can't afford to be flinchy against someone as fast as Ward.

first time i have ever seen ward is thanks to these videos. have to admit he is one classy fighter and will be very hard for any of the super 6 to beat. well done Ward.

Just to keep this thread up, so the "Ward cheated" crowd can maybe snap back to reality.

  12. Ward simply to quick, Kessler was over-rated to begin with..

I wanna see Ward and Froch..

It was clear that Ward fought dirty - he hit and held, and he charged with his head down, leading to these head-butts. However, he also outboxed Kessler - Kessler just coun't deal with Wards speed and counter-punching.

But we mustn't forget that Kessler looked very rusty, after having fought only scarcely 7 rounds in 17 months. Having seen a lot of Kessler fights, I can tell you that this wasn't the Kessler that fought Andrade, Mundine or Calzaghe. That's why I think that we shouldn't write him off just yet.

I thought Kessler looked worse than against Calzaghe, but you never know if that's because Ward was simply doing a better job of outboxing Kessler than Calzaghe. I know that Kessler had absolutely no answer for the way Ward fought him and was clearly very surprised. I'm looking forward to Kessler's next fight to see if he looks crisper, though Froch will present far fewer challenges to Kessler as he does not have Ward's speed.
