Kessler vs Bute: wheels are turning

    12.03.11

Unbeaten IBF super middleweight world champion Lucian Bute's team have apparently made contact with Mikkel Kessler's promoter with a view to inviting them all to their defence against Belfast challenger Brian Magee next week in Canada. Kessler, who withdrew from Showtime's Super Six competition following a difficult and bloody win over Carl Froch, is rumoured to be looking at a tune up fight within the next three months.

The talk is that Bute vs Kessler will be made around the same time as the Super Six final, with a view to the winner of the tourney, fighting the winner of Bute vs Kessler.

Elsewhere Andre Dirrell has intimated he will return to the ring shortly, with a view to challenging Bute later this year. But if the reports of Interbox and Saulerland getting cosy are true, then the Michigan man will have to be patient until next year.

Lucian Bute vs Brian Magee is live on Showtime and Premier Sports ch 433 on Saturday 20th March.

Wonder in what shape will Kessler be... he'll probably loose a decision after a tough fight because Bute is basically at his best right now.

Stieglitz talking about a fight with Starison so i don't think he will be ready and i'm pretty sure he would never face Kessler . Stieglitz refuse 700 000$ to fight Bute so i don't think he would ever face Kessler either!

Stieglitz-Sartison is already signed for April. Too late for another fight in June or July.

Good fight, the winner of that will be best placed to take on the S6 winner! Doesn't leave Dirrell many options though, guess he could go after the Stieglitz-Sartison winner.

Direll could have a tune-up fight with J-P Mendy for the mandatory postion at the IBF belt :think

I really hate to see that Mendy got is Mandatory BY DQ while being KTFO

Finally the real deal Bute at SMW will be facing one the many second who have been avoiding Bute by being busy in a tournament just so they would not fight against the best that there is. Finally, the Kessler and the like will boxe a real skilled boxer and not just the bums of the S6 tournament.
