The last Kessler I saw was vs. Calz, so I certainly had him as my pick. Yes, he didn't look good against Ward, who beat him to the punch and Kessler just couldn't make that adjustment to turn the tide. But, he did look good against Froch in a very exciting fight.
Are you and farmboxer two evil twins? Always repeating the same old message? Just completely the opposite message of course, but not much difference in the way of delivering it.
Kessler is 0 on 2 against fast southpaws with good lateral movement. I think he would be 0-3 if he fights Bute, especially because he's not the same fighter anymore. The Kessler who fought Calzaghe would have made me very nervous. The sloppy one who fought Froch wouldn't scare me that much.
i'd love to see this fight but i think Kessler wants more a rematch against Ward. Bute-Kessler, battle of the jabs, Kessler with the longer reach with atack early rounds Bute will stay midrange and counter most of the time, mainly to the body; mid and late rounds Kessler will try to impose his offensive game while Bute will stay on the outside atacking while retreating; this fight has the potential of a FOTY - Bute has a more rounded set of skills while Kessler has the experience. at this point Bute wins, Kessler only has a good chance if he recovers completly.
You have the right to have that oppinion. But the fact is as many have been writing in this thread, Bute havn`t done **** to prove he is/was any better than Kessler. Who actually knows what will happend the day Bute finally faces a top-level fighter!? fighters like Hopkins, Kessler, Ward, Froch and Dirrell would for sure test what Bute really is worth
i think people are getting ahead of themselves. when a fighter loses it's always there for scrutiny, but bute is just like two dozen fighters who are on people's minds but haven't done anything yet. it's much, much easier to look good against opponents you should be beating....
Providing that Kessler is back to his best, I think it would be a good fight. I think Kessler would win
I have seen Kessler hurt badly by a body shot from Calzaghe int the 8th round from their fight. If you look closely , Kessler was very hurt and did not punch for 2 minutes in that round. It was a left hook to the body. Can you imagine the same punch but from Bute..... Kessler would be down for 1 minute easy... Bute is the best body puncher in the world
Froch has often struggled against this kind of boxers. Many of his fights were close on the scorecards before he scored a KO. The way Bute wins tells something, want it or not. He wins almost all the rounds of his fights and knocks his opponents out. The way he knocked Miranda in 3 one year after Ward won in a 12 round decision tells something. I agree that we don't know for sure though.
http://www.ckac.com/audioplayer.php?mp3=88985 This is one part of an interview with Bute. Unfortunately for many people, it's in French. He gave it today, before leaving the Quebec winter for his training camp. A lot of questions about him, but one comment by his coach is interesting. When Interbox signed with Showtime, the fight that was supposed to be held in March was against Kessler. Kessler then told Showtime and Interbox that he won't be available until next summer. They hope it's only postponed. I cross my fingers. The third part of the interview contains the details (again) of what happened before Andrade 1, when Bute was very sick 5 weeks before the bout but insisted to fight. P.S. To the haters, read that again: Bute wanted to face Kessler in March. His promoter, Bute himself and his coach wer super happy of it. You can take a break of your cherry picking, avoiding, hiding, protecting his belt theories, they were never true.
I have a hint for you. In order to get a knock out, your opponent has to stay on the floor for ten seconds. Otherwise, it's called a knockdown.
