Just read the paper version of danish newspaper BT today

Calzaghe vs Kessler is apparently set for september 22nd at Milennium Stadium but FW is having a little trouble with HBO cause they think the match is too close to Taylor vs.Pavlik

Are they about Taylor being accused of ducking the winner?

its the same **** all over again with the HBO.......i mean in a few yrs time who will remember taylor vs pavlik where as Calzaghe vs Kessler will go down in the history as crowning the first undisputed SMW champion in a fight between two undefeated champions.....**** it seems with this fight when an issue is solved a new one pops up.....first they agreed on economy.then the fight date and now a new problem.......FFS i want this fight announced ASAP so we can move on

I don't think you are viewing this objectively. If you were HBO, wouldn't you want to spread these fights out by more than a week? And considering that Taylor/Pavlik has been agreed in principle (we'll see) longer than JC/MK, doesn't it make sense that their date would be more locked in?

While JC/MK is a great matchup, JT/KP is a very good one, and 160 holds more glamour than 168. I agree with you that the European fight is more significant based on Calzaghe's proven accomplishments, but it's not so silly for HBO to want separation.

hmmm... I think two excellent fights in the space of eight days creates some momentum for HBO's less glamorous fights.

    Calzaghe UD Kessler

Then do it on the 29th, how hard can it be. Move it back or forth a week.

It's not that easy if it's to be held in the Millennium Stadium (a much mooted venue) - the stadium hosts a Rugby World Cup Quarter Final on the 6th October so the logistics would be a bit of a nightmare (pitch problems being the major one)

    Move it to Wembley Stadium!

You must have seen American 'football' (NOT played with the foot, and NOT played with a ball )

Take away the helmets and all of that pansy-protecting gear and it would become more of a man's game, much like rugby.

Hope that clears up things for you.

OK, ... move it to Wembley then. Wembley is already far better and would attract far more money-weilding foreigners to the fight if they can fly to London and have some fun there at the same time. Who really wants to go to Cardiff?
