hometown advantage + Kessler has aged a bit, so I say Froch by close decision

Kessler will win, I don't really see a decline he is coming off some KO wins.
Froch is coming off 2 KO wins, going into the Bute fight a lot of people were writing Froch off... But how good is the win over Bute?? Most on here have labelled Bute the biggest hype job of the last 10 years... Anyway I think Kessler will win a UD he hurt Froch in the first fight, you can make all the excuses you want for Froch in the 1st Kessler fight but he was definitly buckled by Kessler's right hand.

This is the very definition of a 50/50 fight imo.

Two proud warriors who just happen to be great friends slugging it out in a Unification fight. Does it get any better?

The location of the fight gives the slightest of edges to Froch for me, just like the first fight did for Kessler. It's almost impossible to imagine either guy being stopped! They both have GRANITE chins. bags of heart and determination and whilst they're both pretty heavy handed, i don't think either guy will take the other out which means it's going the distance.

I take Carl to win the closest of decisions and a few will scream robbery (not Kessler fans, they're classy guys), but it'll really just be a close fight where home advantage swings it Froch's way (again, just like the first fight). I can't wait for this and will definitely be booking my ringside seat as soon as tickets become available.

Eighteen months ago,I'd have said that was a real possibility, but I see a completely different fight this time and I'd say Kessler is the one who's gone furthest south since the first fight.

Look what Froch managed with a burst ear drum and a **** poor performance. He'll be as fired for this as he was for...what's his name again?:huh

If it's possible, he'll be even more fired up for this than he will any fight he's ever had. This fight is THE fight for him and he views it as the biggest of his career.

    Mack? :yep

I disagree. Kessler's worst period of decline was 2008-2009.

Since Froch I in Denmark, under Montoya, he's actually looked much improved over the 2008-2009 version. The only minor point of concern is being momentarily stunned by Green, but he got over it pretty quickly and proceeded to TCOB. Otherwise he's looked twice the fighter he was in his last few WBA defenses.

Despite the busted eardrum, I felt that the Kessler fight was Froch's best performance in the s6 so I disagree with you there my friend.

I guess it is possible that Kessler has gone further South than Froch. After all it has been a while since he fought an elite opponent.

On the other hand Kessler might be fresher and his vision is nearly back to normal, so I'd expect some of the old precision punching added with some vicious hooks and straight Rights to the body that made Froch cry last time.

I'm only pissed that I've just laid out my outing budget on Burns-Vasquez.I was going to go to Turin for Celtic playing Juve but my boy fancied the London date if Burns had a good opponent because he works nightshift midweek.
I just wish Carl was going out a month or two later than he is.:-(

I hear you,but do you think Green and Magee give a good preparation for Froch in Nottingham? He just seems to have slightly less accurate timing, which was always a major weapon for him IMO.He does the simple things superbly but I thought the old Kess would have capitalised more on the poor Froch first time around(I know.A win's a win:oops:)
    And that's a genuine question.:good

    Perfectly feasible chance BTM.
Kessler is one of the best exponents of the basic style I've seen in the 00's.
I remember being very confident that he'd have enough for Calzaghe though.:patsch

I completely agree with IB actually. Kessler has looked fantastic during and since Froch 1 and i don't think his timing has declined at all. His timing, reflexes, co-ordination and combination punching seem as good as ever to me, and he goes to the body better aswell.

Froch by UD. The home advantage will prove too much. This is gonna be a good one...

    The fans.

This is a great fight between two true professionals; two true warriors.

I think Froch finds a way to win that extra round or two and takes a close one in a FOTY candidate.

I see Froch go forward this time and Kessler as the counter-puncher.
