Kessler is the superior technician and there probably pretty close in strength and power terms so logic would dictate that Kessler takes it, but I can't get away from the way Kessler looked against Ward and late on against Calzaghe , he does seem to have a mental toughness issue when things are going well. Froch however seems to get ever more confident ( many would say delusional ) after every fight I'm starting to wonder if froch might not break him down.

If i was putting money on it I guess Kessler but since its just embaressment if i lose I'm going for Froch late on.

    Kessler has great punching accuracy

Kessler certainly hits as hard as Taylor and has enough pop to hurt Froch imo.

Whenever i think about this matchup that's the fight i kind of expect it to look like, it'll be closer and a bit more even but i expect that by round 6 on Kessler will start making Froch's head look like a bobble head like in the Andrade fight.

    Great point.

A huge factor will be if Kessler can maintain & dictate the range he wants with his jab and footwork, Froch's best chance imo is working on the inside and making it dirty, ugly, & rough.

I don't see Froch as having enough skillwise but you have to consider the innate qualities he has from a mental standpoint. He is one of the most genuinly confident and determined fighters to come along in quite a while & i'll never completely write him off due to that.

I'll go with Froch, don't think Kessler has the movement to annoy and frustrate Froch.

Interesting quote, but just a point as this tournament is at SMW, it is a division that has been dominated by European fighters for some years now ie Calzaghe (won WBO, IBF WBC & WBA titles), Ottke (won IBF & WBA titles), Beyer (3 time WBA champ), Kessler (won WBA & WBC), Bute, Collins, Benn, Eubank not to mention Reid, Woodhall, Catley, Sanavia & Froch. Between them they have beaten (only active fighters mentioned) D Green, A Dirrell, Sheika, Pascal, J Taylor, R Jones, B Hopkins, A Mundine, B Mitchell, C Brewer, J Lacy, S Bika, E Lucas, L Andrade & G Johnson. You can see some good slick boxers in there. Also 5 of those fighters mentioned here were undefeated going in. Sure Kessler was soundly beaten by Ward but Calzaghe had already laid the blueprint on how to do that. Styles make fights.

Froch can be much rougher than Ward esp. in clinches so I have to go with Froch on this one. This match-up does have potential to be explosive as both fighters want to prove themselves after their last fights.

Exactly. And another thing people don't realize about Carl is he is one rangy SOB. He has great timing and accurancy to make-up for lack of
speed. And he is very cunning about closing the distance too. Froch will have to keep kessler on the backfoot, and fight small to avoid straight shots. Kessler will have keep carl at arms range and in front while using something he hasn't since the andrade fight. Lateral movement. He wasn't quick enough to use it against Joe or Andre, but froch moves about as slow as andrade so kessler might be able to fight his fight. This fight really is a tossup IMO.
