That's usualy the purpose/formula on making H2H fight's. (Why would we/I throw in a horrible version of a fighter against one in their prime) It's prime on prime, I assume all the time unless noted other wise.
I'm going with Kessler. McClellan was a pretty exciting banger but i feel a (powerful) textbook 1-2 with a steady earmuff would have beat him. Late ko or UD.
McClellan would have been Allen Green if he was in the mix today. Said in another way - Allen Green could have made the short run Gerald made in those days.
Benn beat Mcllellan because the REf gave him 20 secs to get back in the ring. Benn was also an exceptional puncher which Kessler is not. Benn was an elite fighter who could give anyone a battle , something Kessler is not. Mclellan in 2., with Kessler swimming in the pool of **** he distributed in the ring as the introductions were being rolled out.
After reading this ****, I conclude that You are one of the dumbest posters on ESB:good. KESSLER GIVES ANYONE A BATTLE FROM SMW TO LHWatsch
Mariancobretti is the biggest Kessler hater oon ESB. This is already well-known. Some say G-man because they like him and just really wish he would win - these are typically the same who think Allen Green is really good and deserves to be in Super Six. Others just haven't seen Kessler and don't really know what kind of fighter he is. And then there are some like Marian.. who are just blind haters.
I think you got the fighters wrong, you should reds some of the nonsense he writes about AA. As far as Allen, he did look impressive against De leon, I know pretty much an unknown entity in Carlos but he was very dominant and showed good power. Some argue the colon removal against miranda, with all the injuries presently, that can be accepted on why he lost. I want to see him against oganov, should be a decnet scrap.:good
Oganov is the worst fighter with a good paper record. Did you see how amateurish he looked against Direll? Green should have absolutely NO problems with Oganov. I think Green is interesting - he is just quite an unknown entity. I want to see him against Inkin, Balzay, Larsen, Mock, Sartison, Braehmer, Tsypko, Veit etc. In other words the big row of good fighters just below elite (Balzay may prove me wrong...).
Yeah the more I think of it the more this fight could look like the Direll fight. The thing is, Green is coming into this fight pretty confident, I would be, and Oganov as raw as he is is DOES have some power. Like I said, should be a good scrap, would not be the least surprised if oganov catches green. As far as other opponents you listed, Balzsay would be my first pick followed by Tsypko or hell even Lacy, what you think?
No, it shows how overrated McCellan has become, because he was a fighter of the past, and the "what could have been" factor.
McClellan has a good fighter. He just gets overrated because people like to think about his potential, and it was "back in the days". If message boards were around then people would be bashing him for defending against the likes of Jay Bell and Gilbert Baptist and talk about Julian Jackson being past his prime and half-blind. Although he gets overrated, Kessler would still be in for a tough fight.
McClellan is still overrated regardless. He might stop Kessler though, not hard to envision his left hooks to the body doing Mikkel in.
