Kessler vs Green going to be set in Denmark

this was already reported a couple of weeks back

 

fair enough - Kessler is a popular champ and a big draw in Denmark, while Green is lucky to be fighting for a title after his performance against Ward - don't think even American boxing fans think much of him right now/

 

4 million kroner is about 500 000 euros, right? That's not too bad a payday for a guy with Green's popularity. Thing is, I thought Mikkel badly wanted to fight in the States. Is it the refereeing in the Ward fight that changed his mind, or doesn't he want to take any unnecessary risks in this one?

You got it both right i think. After the Ward fight (and actually also a little after the Calzaghe fight) Kessler was heavily criticize. It got to him and new trainer and the performance vs. Froch showed, that Kessler is now 100 % focus to advance in the super six.

Kessler just made a settlement with former promoter Palle, and Sauerland is the new promoter, so i.l guess Kessler fighting in Denmark at Parken stadium is "good business" :good

 

No one knows who Kessler is in America.
Kessler will need the ad of the officials for this fight, so Denmark is the place where officials are known to help their local boxer.

I wonder if losing his sister will put him in the same mode as Buster Douglas got into for Tyson. Of course Kessler is no Tyson but Green...ah well. Might be better than expected. I think Kessler will probably stop Green late but he may have cut trouble.
